Subject: Halo 4 made me realize that im not a halo fan; im a Bungie fan.

Halo 4 was, without doubt, not only the worst halo game, but one of the worst games I've ever had my displeasure of playing. Nothing about this game reminds me of a halo game. You could swap all the main characters with generic ones slap a different name on it and call it Space Spartan 4 and watch the horrible reviews roll in. (If you had the time.)

I know some of you may disagree with me, but that is only because you have been fooled by the many reviews that tell you about the great story and epic engaging gameplay. I can assure you neither of these things exist in halo 4 and neither does any of the other things you've read.

Halo 4's reviews were bought. That may sound stupid to you but it is the only logical conclusion I can come to as to why this game has received such regard.

You may be thinking " no ive played halo 4 and it is not bad at all!" Well my dear friend its not your fault, but you are wrong; this is a bad game to its core.

Halo 4 is as if a a 6 year old boy described halo over the phone to a team of very talented artists and designers and these people were contractually obligated to put what ever this six hear old said in the game.

The Story: Plastic
The Graphics: Plastic
The Gameplay: Reach covered in plastic

There is a positive side to this piece of -blam!-: Never before has a game made me appriciate the amazing works of art that is the bungie made halo series and I cannot wait for Destiny and whatever else will be made by Bungie.

I could rant more but I'm too tired and no one really cares about my opinion anyway.

That's a great opinion bro. Now where are the facts?

All my friends, and most people here including myself, enjoy Halo 4

For those who wish to contact me on Xbox LIVE, my main account is "The 7th Taco", and the one linked with my profile here is only a backup.

It's a video game. Some people will enjoy it, some people won't.

What you wrote is called an opinion. Respect everyone else's and they'll respect yours.

  • 11.11.2012 10:28 PM PDT

I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

Although I must ask, what specifically irks you about Halo 4? And I mean SPECIFICALLY.

That being said, I did personally, like the story of Halo 3 better, although I still think Halo 4's story is great. However, if you haven't yet read the Halo books, the story WILL seem extemporaneous and confusing.

The gameplay is actually very reminiscent of Halo 3, at least in terms of gunplay, although I do think that the maps aren't all that great. I personally preferred the more boxy, rectangular maps of Halo 3.

As for your graphical gripe, I really have no idea what you're talking about. Try playing Halo 3 and Reach and then come back to Halo 4. There's a world of difference.

And don't get me started on the beautiful quality of the cuteness.

halo 4 worse than reach?

HA. Thanks for the laugh buddy I needed it.

343 may have a crappy website and stats handling.. but the game is good. and the graphics.. are phenomenal.

  • 11.11.2012 11:13 PM PDT

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I'm loving Halo 4 so far. I mean sure there are things that could've been better with forge, custom games, multiplayer. But I'm still having fun with it. Also it feels like a halo game to me.

Further more it's been only a few days since the release so we need to give 343 some time before we judge them to harshly. They've already stated that with weekly updates there will be constant new things to do and in title updates they plan on adding more content. Which could mean new armor, things for forge, weapons?, ect.

I can't wait to see where 343 takes Halo.

  • 11.11.2012 11:24 PM PDT

This was simply a general overview of my opinion, I could go in depth but to answer the one gentleman's question. I will maybe go in depth at a later point in time but the most outstanding piece of the poorly designed puzzle that is halo 4 is the lack of magic, or PZZAZZ.

The best part of the halo games (obviously in my opinion) is the little touches the little things that make you smile. Halo used to be something special, something that put smiles on the faces of everyone who touched a ginormous xbox controller. It didn't need ridiculously designed armor or redundant ranking systems just up until reach all it needed was good gameplay a good soundtrack a few buddies and a pinch of the demon magic bungie used to craft a truly memorable experience not on terms of video games but in your life.

Absolutely none of these things are present in halo 4.

Halo 4 is a mass market, dumbed down, poorly paced, call of duty aspiring, Microsoftquickcashgrab-tacular piece of bologna and to call yourself a fan of halo and to say that you think this is a "perfect" game or let alone observe this game in a positive manner is like voting for Mitt Romney,

and yes that was all one sentence.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

Would you like some more tin foil with your hat sir?
How about, oh I don't know, people actually liked the game and felt it deserved the score they gave?
Oh wait that's not possible! Someone disagrees with you! They must be a mindless drone sent by the pentagon!
Get real.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Sorry, I actually feel joy when playing Halo 4.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Posted by: Joris KykerYou are not alone. We may be few, but we exist. I could go on about why I though Halo 4 was a overly complicated lackluster borefest that had strayed so far from its origin that it is no longer recognisable, but I really don't care anymore. Let those who enjoy it have it, it's ruined now, and it'll only drift even further. *sad feasting horn* The designs well get even more complicated, the story will become even more unnecessarily convoluted, and even more artistic freedom will be taken. Go back and read the Iris Terminals and Halo 3's Terminals, and you'll see how much it has changed.

Swap out what he hoped Mulholland Dr. would amount to with what Halo now has turned into, and David Mitchell makes a point that is fairly similar to what Halo 4 has made me feel about Halo in general. 1:20-and onward.

One doesn't have to like Halo 4. The sooner people realise that, the better.

*Stands in cue for Destiny*

Although I do not agree with everything you said. Halo 4 also made me realise that I am a Bungie fan more than I am a Halo fan. Although I found the campaign to be a similar sort of experience, it is Halo 4's multiplayer which I find less enjoyable.

A mythic member but I speak my mind to much.

Halo 4 made me realize, I dont care who is painting the picture as long as the end product is beautiful, Im happy.

Halo 4's campaign was pretty great. I dont care if Bungie didnt make it. If anything Im happy 343i was more then capable and were able to produce one of the best Halo games so far.

That's not technically true. While I respect your opinion, I feel compelled to point out that 343i used Reach's engine and preset parameters as a base. They did not make the game the way it is by simply knowing how to make a Halo game. Halo 4 owes a fair portion of its score to Bungie.
With that said, do you think 343i could have made Halo 4 from scratch?

Call 1-800-KISS MY SLIP SPACE RUPTURE

The roots of Halo have grown deep under Bungies careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of their countless generations has saturated the soil. Their strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms... And the impervious shelter beneath which it has prospered.

First off. NICE EMBLEM! lol Second, I agree with you 100%. Bungie, I miss you so. When will we see you starside!?

Honestly to the OP, I take offense with a part of your post. Implying anybody who likes it, even above "being -blam!-" bought into the reviews.

Honestly, I didn't like aspects of the campaign all that much. The MP seems rather annoying with no default weapons on the map, and everybody going for light rifle/DMR/BR.

It's not awful, but I don't think of it like some people did as being the BESTEST THING EVER or blowing the bungie halos out of the water.

Hey...as long as you can T-bag your kill in somewhat HD at the least...I can't complain.

Are you stupid *facepalm*, why even ask...

Like Halo was any good at any time.

I have the exact same, i do think halo 4 is better than reach but...I just miss Bungie :(

  • 11.12.2012 8:07 AM PDT

If good looks could kill, I'd be a weapon of mass destruction.

Q: Hey, what did Hitler say to the black jew?
A: Get to the back of the oven.

I'm not saying Halo 4 is god's gift to Halo or gaming, but I can't wrap my mind around how anybody can like Halo Reach and then hate Halo 4.

I for one found Reach to be the absolute worst in the series. ABSOLUTE WORST. Thanks bungie!

And while Halo 4 is somewhat different, most of the additions and changes feel logical in the evolution of the franchise. Note that I said MOST and not ALL.

  • 11.12.2012 8:11 AM PDT

Were it so easy.

Halo 4 is actually amazing, its very similar to the Bungie games in a lot of ways and holds true to the formula. Its a different take on the Halo universe while still keeping the integrity of it and not deviating too far.

I really don't know why you have such an agenda against it, its actually a spectacular game.

If it's one thing 343i has proven is that they value quantity, but that was not the question (I think it's an interesting one).Posted by: The 7th Taco

Ideally, yes, but look at the forums, if anyone thinks it's worth less than 8-9/10, their opinion isn't respected. The consensus is that 343i are super capable and have taken Halo the hight it should have soared at from the beginning. Halo changing developer has split the community, I don't even know why some who daily insult Bungie even are here. If I for instance give it an eight for overall production quality and a five for failing to be a Halo game, you know what happens if I state that? I'm called a troll, stupid, or just met by a cascade of facepalms, which in the end renders my opinion, invalid and dismissed (not only for that instance), even though said opinion is based on far more arguments than the praisers in most cases are willing to provide.

10/10 is just as riduculous as 6/10. The only thing I'm interested in rating is how well it resonates with the Halo I've grown with the last twelve years. I thought it failed, I states so, I was laughed at, so I can fully understand why someone in a similar position choses to sink to the same level, not that it's a good choice.

On top of that, people here don't seem mature enough to continue discussing subjects with people after having learnt that their opinions are different, they form various camps (I think private forums are a part of that), and after a while the tension grows bitter and most of the regular forumites outright disrespects each other, and even more bias is born. We're all part of the problem, which is sad, cause most of us will most likely find something in common with those we once had a fierce argument with, if we gave it a try. Like Destiny, maybe those who love, and those who hate Halo 4 will adore the game, wouldn't it be to bad if we made everyone our enemies in that case? (trying to end on a high note).
