Easter Egg Hunter. Apprentice Tricker/Glitcher (learning from Grumpy and Sliding Ghost).
Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.
Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

343 turned Halo into Call of Duty.
The graphics are just camera tricks.
People are going crazy saying they're beautiful with so much detail and oh boy! :D
They are not.
Zoom up on a wall, and you'll see pixels and grain and a blurry mess.
Zoom up on something Bungie made.
You'll see details.
Details loving squeezed into there because, this is a universe. A real world to them.
If you own Halo Reach, then you should go right now and go into forge and spawn a ghost.
Then, zoom up, really close on the smooth rounded purple front of it. Or anywhere really.
You'll see these small little scratches all along the edge of it. Scratch that look completely real. It was something as dumb as those scratches that dedicated me to bungie games.
Yes, I play other companies games too. But, if bungie makes one, I have 100% faith they'll put the love and devotion they do to all the Halo games.
343 murdered Halo. They made instant respawns and kill cams (hello call of duty), And LOADOUTS.
What the heck is that?! Loadouts? Really 343?
That is NOT what Halo is about. That is NEVER what Halo has been about. So WHY in the HELL are you putting loadouts in Bungies game?
The point of Halo, is that everyone is equal.
Skill sets everyone apart. Whether it's timing out weapon spawns or out dmr'ing someone.
It is about, skill.
Then 343 comes around, and makes Halo more "user friendly for beginners".
WHAT? And since when do we have Ordinance? What the hell is that about?
If you do not already know, if you get a certain amount of 'points' (Not kills, those don't matter anymore['sup COD]) you get this thing called "Ordinance". Where you can get an item, whether an overpowered weapon or health or ammo or blahblah, Delivered RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
WHAT?!
Why. Why is the necessary?
And the best part is, you can do it anywhere. Even if it's indoors.
Because it teleports to you.
In a swirly sparkly, almost "Beam me up scotty" kind of way.
Since when did we have teleportation in the Halo universe?
I remember in ODST, we used 'drop pods' to get to the surface of a planet.
Why didn't they all just teleport! Saves some time and less risk of an EXPLOSION setting you off course.
Oh, and lets talk about my very FAVORITE part of this game.
PERKS! :D
Oh yay! That's totally Halo, right?
Not maybe.. COD or anything, but Halo is totally long overdue for perks. Of course. Because Bungie not jumping up on the bandwagon before, means "Hey, lets make this game the BIGGEST SELLOUT POSSIBLE".
Sound good? Not really actually.. No.
What else did 343 take out... Hmmm..
OH. In forge.
343 put shadows in there. I like that. Woo! 343 did something right yay!
When you place an object, it affects the shadows around it, and makes the environmental look actually affected. That's good. And magnets are pretty cool too, it makes objects snap together. And you can change gravity in certain areas, and also, you can copy things instantly by pressing down on the d pad, which is good if you wanna spam a bunch of propane ta- Oh wait, they removed those.
Now let me list some things they've ruined.
1. You can't go slowly by pressing the left control stick, for precision movement.
2. You can't zoom in build mode
3. The maps they give you, are barely editable. There's only like, 2 maps you can forge on. And they're both dark.
4. You stop moving when you get out of forge mode into player mode. So you can't fling yourself into a wall, or accross the map anymore. And part of the reason people loved forge so much, was it felt like a sandbox shooter with a bunch of gods running around.
They stripped it of its charm.
Lets see what else.
The player models, and armor.
They did a HORRIBLE job with the armor.
Everything looks like action figures now.
Bungie did an amazing job making our armor look badass.
343 did a good job of massing a million alterations that look dumb.
Lemme show you how I look on both the games, and why don't you tell me which one looks better. One from 343's website, and one from bungie.
Bungie
343
I think those speak for themselves.
Without the camera effects or fog or lighting tricks 343 uses to mask their lack of detail, you can clearly see the lack of "giving a -blam!-" they've shown to crafting these characters.
343 didn't put the love bungie would've. They just manufactured a money making game to squeeze Master Chief till he's dry.
There's so much more I could complain about, like the story being horrible and terribly written. And not 1 one liner from master chief.
The most cliche badass you could have, and no one liners.
I'm gonna get on to my last complaint though.
The "Limited Edition" pack, which is the highest pack you can get for Halo 4.
I personally pre ordered for this, because I run a gaming clan devoted to Halo.
I didn't have the highest hopes for 343 (Wonder why).
And when they added "SUPER SLAYER" to Halo, I knew it was downhill from there.
Lets see...
Remember Halo Reach: Legendary edition? I remember it cost about 50$ more than Halo 4: Limted edition.
This is what came in the box...
Halo Reach Legendary
Now lets see, Halo 4 limited edition which cost 100$
Halo 4 Limited edition
Beautiful paper, isn't it?
I was PISSED when I got this crap...
Everything you get is in game content. All of that paper, are codes you use to get in game crap. To make you play more. Because that's all that really matters, Right? Oh, and don't forget the "special pass" to watch an independent Halo series you can find on youtube!
Even the inside of the case has an advertisement of the company who made it. 343 probably got a big cash settlement for that too.
Maybe you think I sound like a bungie fanboy who would say they've never done anything wrong, right?
Well let me take a moment to prove you wrong.
There are some mistakes bungie has made over the years, and here's a couple.
1. Armor lock
2. Master chief (Unoriginal and cliche action character)
3. Firefight
4. Never added new armor or items in forge
I honestly can't think of more right now. Maybe later?
Oh, and Halo 4 also has a slight auto aim.
AWESOME RIGHT?
BOOM HEADSHOTZ
343, if a dreadful spinoff of what the first Halo was.
And then Halo grew, and transformed into a mature, deepli game. With intelligence and strategy and replayability and an amazing online mulitplayer.
And 343, came along and undid all that "Growing up" Halo did, and added more explosions.
They're that cliche, unitelligent company that comes along, and says "Needs more EXPLOSIONS wooo! Testosterone! DEATH KILL KILL BOOM, ADRENALINE ACTION PACKED WOOO EXTREMMEE".
They're the death of Halo.
Halo was never meant to have perks, or loadouts, or ordinance, or instant respawns, or kill cams, or a crappy limited edition or.. Well you get the point.
Bungie put so much love into Halo to have to see their child sellout and become a whore like this.
Halo Reach till the end <3
I agree mostly. I really like 343i but they went in the wrong direction with Halo. They focused too much on the approval of new fans and gaining CoD players than focusing on the needs and wants of the veterans and Halo community. But you can't really blame them. Its their first game. I have a feeling that Halo 5 will redeem the Reclaimer trilogy.
