But the thing is MasterKim, how big of a improvement can dx9 and dx10 make, sure they'll make the textures and effects overall look better, but not enough to make the game look like its a new game. Too make it look like its something next-gen they're going to have to overhaul or improve at the least a little bit on the textures, and add in effects or reprogram effects so it truly takes use of dx9 and dx10.

Remember everything on Halo 2 was programmed specifically for dx8 with 8.1 being used. Also the textures and graphics were limited by the xbox hardware.

It'll still look good though, but if they're only reprogramming for dx10 and dx9, it'll look better, but not like god-like like people are hoping.

Of course. And this is the part where we hope they optimize Halo 2 and its graphics for PC gaming. We don't expect it to look like Crysis, but it's going to look better.

Anyways, there are also good maps at [http://www.mothergoat.net]MotherGoat.net[/url]. They have some really good maps, and you'll see a server or two rotating one of his maps. They're really well-designed, go check them out now.

Ya, I know people don't except it to look like Crysis which is just plain crazy in terms of graphics, and ya this is the part where we hope they optimize it for the PC, :D.

But the thing is, Crysis is one of the games that shows the consoles disadvantages while it shows the PC's advantage. You see, games on consoles are limited by the hardware, right from it's launch games are limited by the hardware, at the start the games won't be, but eventually during the middle to last years, the games will have to start becoming more and more optimized. However, the PC games are only limited by the hardware that runs them.

With consoles games, people have to program in mind for the hardware limitations, while PC games, people have to program in mind for the hardware needed to run it. Such as Halo 3, they developed their engine by the xbox360's hardware. But Crysis on the other hand developed its engine to what they wanted to do with it, such as an entire island being the game area, and with fully destruble enivorments, they were only limited to the hardware capable of running it. So PC game developers can program things not able to be run on today's hardware but on future hardware.

Hope this didn't confuse you.
