1000 for campaign
1000 for multiplayer

the only reason i say this is because the potential for the multiplayer achievements is insane. i mean achievements for 50,000 kills and 10,000 matches. they could do that and have lesser number kills and matches achievements all the way up to it but spread out to 1000 they would only be worth like 10 points each. i mean they could do that with each type of medal. and with the campaign they would have all the difficulty achievements, and the "skulls" or whatever they are going to have. not to mention headshots in 1 mission or not dying during a mission. the achievements could be the best achievements for a 360 game if they did it right. some people play halo A LOT(like me) and some of the achievements should be designed for the people who do.

Games are only limited to 1000 altogether anyway, so its not possible, unless Microsoft decides to change the rules for their flagship.

He means gamerscore, for the Xbox 360. And games are limited to 1000, so unless Halo 3 and Halo 3 multiplayer are two different games, 2000 wont be happening.
