You'd have to be a rock that lives under a rock to not realize that popularity exists on BNET.
I live under rocks 3fold. What now?

Were it so simple...

Only mythics can be popular.
Mythics decide who's popular and who's not.

I'm kind of big on screenshots. I love taking them and I love looking at what others are capable of, so feel free to send your shots my way if you want some nice feedback!

Popularity also exists in different sub-communities throughout Bungie. Take the screenshot community for example. There are stars who serve as models for all other screenshot takers to follow- they receive plenty of messages on bungie.net asking them about their works, as well as random friend requests and whatnot on xbox live. I'm sure popularity in other sub-communities, such as the forging community, exists as well.

I think popular and well-known are two different things..

Nothing is so embarrassing as watching someone do something that you said could never be done.

The only people I recognise around the forums are ninjas, ex-ninjas, employees, ex-employees and SonicJohn because his hunt for 'The Ultimate Egg' really grabbed my attention and he seems like a very respectful person all around. :)

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

Of course. There are certain members here that almost everyone knows. Not just forum ninjas and bungie employees either.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think the Mythic way of being popular is the easy way to get popular.

That was a point I was going to make. We all knew about the kid that peed himself in Biology class but he wasn't exactly "popular".

Same premise can be applied here, and we all know who peed himself.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Inner circles do. Are they popular? To the people in them. Its safer to say Infamous people exist. Members that everyone hates.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Not at all. We all know popularity is a terrible factor for judgement.

I'm not serving anything. You probably regret your name. Woo, whole month. And so what if I don't post as much.
