This is a scenario I would love to see in Halo3
Ill give an example, Your in Team Assault (Elite vs Spartan) and you have only one life and no vehicle or anything else respawns. You and your squad were knocked out, you get back up, everyones ok and have only suferred minor damage apart from broken arms or legs, some yelling "Medic" but overall alright, mostly caused by flying debris or columns and such falling on them, everyone gets their weapons off the ground and reload to be prepared. blue team just blasted your base to avenge your blast, there is debris, sparking walls and a sinistre fog. The explosion caused rubble to block up all possible exits and your out of explosives, all your vehicles have been used and by your teamates holding off the enemy base and youv'e been asked to stay alive while backup arives to blast you out (now your the defending team). Everywere you go you can bearly see a meter ahead in the fog, the grav lifts been destroyed but theres still a kind of ladder you can now use, you advance slowly with your group as a formation, you don't know who on the enemy's assaulting team is dead, and who is alive, behind you you hear a sound a thump, you turn around and one of your teamates is laying on the ground covered in blood, behind him is the silouette of an Elite, You all open fire as the elite (without any weapon, probably disarmed by the blast or its weapon was destroyed) charges towards you with hands wide ready to grasp and rip, it grabs another man into the fog and you hear the screaming as you see the blood spurt onto the nearby wall and flow on the ground, you are still firing and eventualy hear the elite scream and thud onto the ground. You run to try to get the the upper level were hopefully you could be extracted from the top as the bottom level and mid level are the most dangerous. You get cornered, at the same time you get told you will soon be awaiting evac to defend the outside of your base. So you try to hold them off, "Enemy Down!", most are weaponless but some have taken weapons from the dead, you look up as a rocket salvo blasts the debris away, you jump up onto the roof and run through the teleporter, you are the last person to reach the teleporter and by then you had found a grenade on the roof of the building. The remaining elites are advancing, you stop and turn around. "See ya", you chuck the grenade onto the ground and run through the teleporter. When you get to the other side you look back and see the smoldering remains of the teleporter and surrounding dead elite bodies, some with limbs with damaged and blackened armour hanging off the edge of the base. You hear game over and you win by the secondary condition of have killed all the enemy.
What was in this short scenario was some of the following...
*Elite vs Spartan game option, this could apply (if more character models allowed) to other creatures like Brute vs Marine
*High level enviromental damage, one example is the base and the broken panels and debris that blocked exits, (Inspired by BLACK)
*Explosion and firearms cause kind of fog that can hover around for up to 10 minutes if serious enough (Inspired by F.E.A.R.)
*Features like Grav-Lifts and Teleporters are fully destructable, this can efect the way the game plays emensly
*Liquid blood instead of decal blood decal (runs down walls and spreads on ground)
*Weapons and Explosives can stun and blackout players if not powerful enough to kill them (until shield recharges)
*Weapons can be disarmed or destroyed or damaged impeting performance (they were luckey they had no explosives or the bomb could have set off they're grenade belts)
*Different parts of the body can be damaged resaulting in lack of performance, these can be seen visualy is broken armour and things like limping, health packs or medics could solve this.
*Players automaticaly shout commands like medic when damaged or taunts when killing players
Wouldn't it be cool if all this could happen in Halo3, anyone like to add more ideas I would like to keep this thread alive, thanks
