Go back and play them again if you're lost. What part are you confused about?

I suggest that you just play throguh Halo again, and pay attention to the cinematics.

The "point" of the Halos are to be facilities to study and contain the flood. The method of containment involves killing all sentient life within 3 radii of the galactic center.

There are seven known halos total scattered throughout the farthest reaches of the universe. As you know, one of them's already been destroyed.

The halos are sort of a religious artifact to the Covenant. They were built by an ancient superior race known as the Forerunner, and the Covenant basically worship them as gods, travelling throughout the universe assimilating other worlds and species into their collective race and waging a holy war of sorts with those who would try to resist.

I can only assume the other alien race you're referring to is the Flood? No one knows how the Flood came to be, but it seems that in reality the Halos were built to contain the Flood from spreading off of the artificial ring worlds. If this were for some reason ever to happen, the Forerunners designed the Halos with the failsafe of simultaneously activating and exploding, wiping out not only the Flood, but all life in the universe.

there is really no way to explain it all. If you want to know, the easiest way would be to just play the games over again. do it on easy, they don't take that long.

Becuase someone was trying to activate it. If that happened then all the humans would die.

Go here dude it will tell you everything you need to know

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

The short answer is, there is no short answer. Its summer time, if your out of school then you should have plenty of time to read through the books and play the games again. If you don't even go to school anymore then there must be time for you to go through the back story again.

Correct, but 1 problem. Halo doesn't kill the Flood. It kills all other sentient life, which is their food. So it kills their food, which kills them.
