Just 1 point to make after reading through this thread. LOCUST appears to have come up with a lot of info for this one. Maybe he's just extremely resourceful. He's only just joined bungie.net 4 days ago and I can't locate his gamertag (xringwormx).

Apologies to Locust if it turns out you are not trying to deliberately generate interest in this possible ARG.

Resourceful yes but all his information leads comes from somewhere. That is, any of us could have done the same things, he just actually dug into it. It's plausible, but I just hope this turns out to be a real ARG.

hmmm... This is quite interesting and it may possibly be an ARG. Has anyone thought of forwarding the Cortana letters to him? I just did... and I also told him I was interested in helping him get rid of the hackers.

man this really doesnt seem like a possibility to me. The message in the source page is crazy, and imediately i thought of ILB when he said one of the hackers was mellissa, but IDK, it just doesnt feel right.

I wonder what that symbol on his Xanga is....hmmmmmm. Most likely a logo for some bad metal band. Maybe someone here is familiar with it?

Am i the only one who thinks this is a fans attempt at an ARG recreation?

think about it, a die hard halo fan, who likes metal music.. he's a tad depressed, perhaps he has no rl friends?

and so, to get attention, makes an ARG.

this, ladies and gents: is the result?

if there is no link to the site from a bungie source, take it as either fan recreation,or a project from another company.

Yesterday when the link to this page was posted I checked it out.

I also got a number when I messaged the second AIM name but it was a fax number.

I tried to send a fax to it but nothing came back.

Anyway this seems to be a cheesy ARG that has way to easy to find halo clues.

right now I think it's a fake. but i'll still poke around the site.

Nah, if this is an ARG, I'm not behind it at all. I've just sort of had an interest in them since I first followed ilovebees. My old gamertag used to be rymc, but I actually don't have one in the meanwhile, since I gave my Xbox away to a friend before the summer began. Hopefully I'll go out and pick up a 360 soon. As for joining four days ago, well.. I actually had an older account here, and since I hadn't signed in in a long time i'd forgotten what the email I registered it with or my userwname was. With all the Halo 3 hooplah gaining steam once again, I thought it would be a good time to join the forums.

Well guys, as creepy and mysterious as that site is, to be honest, I seriously doubt that if Bungie had actually somehow used it as a vehicle to launch an ARG, they wouldn't leave a minor's contact information out to the public. Reckless endangerment most likely always comes first before an interesting trail of clues.

Okay, I added TakenByTheDawn on AIM and sent him a message. I got an autoreply saying "new sn is theblackflame17".

I messaged the new screenname, and I get another autoreply that says..

"Sleep

313 3864"

..I wonder if I should call it.. Eh boy..

3 + 1 + 3 = 7

do i relly need to tell you what that possibly means?

more, 3+8-4=7

3+4=7

8+6=14 but if we divide that by half we get 7

teh 7s!! link!!!!!!!!!

Interesting, but it's much too early for an ARG linked to Halo 3. If you recall, the ILB saga started the summer before Halo 2 was released. It seems more like a fan-created thing to me.

Who says its all fake?

I was looking through the View Source after all the GO DIE things...and I found something interesting. The post that says "This is all fake" has an extension to it. It says after "Thanks for the calls at 2 a.m." this:
Haha, you guys found a lot more stuff that me and my friend thought you would.

So is this fake? If it is, why hasn't a Forum Ninja locked this thread yet?

Another idea, the link that takes you to www.imaninja.com

Forum Ninja? imaNINJA? another coincidence?

Just had another idea, didnt Srgt. Johnson like Heavy Metal? and that AIM conversation with that message may have been Johnson. Who knows?

Great, you got me involved in this. I'll keep you guys posted if I get any more ideas.

Roflcakes it told me to go and die.

Of course, that could just be the lyrics to a new metal song, you never know.

Indeed, Go Die Go Die Go Die sounds good being screamed with some blaring electric guitars

Word about ilovebees.com got out because it was at the end of the Halo 2 trailer in theaters. Until you see Halo 3 commercials in theaters, don't believe anything.
