Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.
"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."
Xbox Live has had an interesting effect on me. Before I tell you what, let me tell you about myself.
I am a white male in his mid-late teens, coming from an Upper-Middle class town (With a 90%+ population of White people, please don't take this as racist.) I wasn't rich, but I definitely have spent the vast majority of my life experiencing this one single culture. Before I discovered the Internet, I was as culturally diverse as an orangutan whose been locked in a metal box his whole life.
Xbox Live was one of the first experiences I had where I truly dealt with people from different areas and different cultures. I was suddenly conversing with people from different countries, even as far away as France. (Pro Tip: Google Translate is a -blam!-.) I learned a lot about different cultures, their people, and their circumstances. (Remember I come from a place where people almost never fall on true "hard times".)
I can confidently say Xbox Live helped to expand my mind culturally and gave me a broader view on life and the people of earth. The best part was I got to do this while having fun playing games. Plus it introduced me to the Bungie Community, which I am proud to be a part of, as well as a contributing member. This will probably be read by few people, and quickly buried, but know that Xbox Live was one of the greatest things ever invented and changed me for the better.
