Ok, personally, one thing i would like to see return in halo 3 is the marines little camera thing and the boonie hats. also in frankies latest weekly update, he said that the grunts were actually smarter and flanked him. does this mean that the marines might actually have good tactics this time around?????

If the earth is really going to be destroyed then the marines should have better weapons, better cameras, better brains, and better vhicles.

I really hope they bring back the old marine types with the skipper hat, bandanna, and some new ones too. It gave them their own personalities, not just different voices. The do need to get good voice actors again like in H2, but not that guy that says something like "I didn't think they'd send a spartan." He could have done better.

Yaay!! Boonie hats!!!

Lol.

But seriously, that was one of my favorite aspects of Halo 1. It gave them personality, whereas in Halo 2, they were bland.

And, I agree. They need better voice actors for the Marines so it doesn't sound like they are saying their lines from a script.

Marine Tactic Number One- Shoot rockets in every direction even if a player is standing directly in front of you.

Marine Tactic Number Two- Shoot off your SMG from across an open field bringing the attention of Jackal Snipers to you and the player staring at you while cursing you to death.

Marine Tactic Number Three- Stand still in an open field while enemy vehicles are firing at you instead of trying to find cover.

Marine Tactic Number Four- Constantly drive Warthogs or Spectres over any cliffs in sight; Especially when a player is sitting in your turret.

Marine Tactic Number Five- Stand completely still when a grenade is thrown at you or roll about five feet making it look dramatic when you still get blown to chunks.

Hehe lol, I agree.

Hell yeah, in the original we had Marines in no armour (bizarrely) which was cool and there was a few with Bandannas.

If there's anything the Marines need, it's both of Halo 1 and Halo 2's personalities and the variable armour (the ones in H2 must have been damn hot in Mombassa) but I'd like to see some ragtag Marines, like the ones in Aliens; covered in tatoos and wearing headbands, as well as stuff carved into their armour. I don't really care for Marine commands now, just as long they can take care of themselves, not attract attention unless you do something and not steal your Warthog.

The snipers from H1 need to come back. They did so much better. Johnson can't die in H2, and i've gotten more kills with the sniper guy from the level "Halo" from H1. Pathetic? Yes.

Bit harsh, plus that guy was the second black Marine, and I thought he did a good job.

btw, was the "sucks at life" bit needed?

But yeah, the Sniper Marines in H1 nailed almost every Covvie they saw, aside from Marines standing in their way (I'm sure some Marines had freak health, one took about three friendly shots while he was sitting on the tank and he only lost like one block).

I don't remember seeing him other than that, and that line was done poorly. I was only being facious with the sucks at life thing. I tend to say that a lot.

I would like them to say more than just simple phrases. For example in the halo 2 e3 2003 demo the first thing you hear a marine say is. Wow a spartan, guess the Brass do give a -blam!-.

And also another thing that you see in the 2003 demo is marines asking other marines if its clear to move to their possition, that was cool.

yes, but the E3 2003 trailer was scripted not realtime like halo 3's

They will probably be all rag-tag lookin, considering Earth has been taken over by the Covies AND The UNSC is pretty much obliterated, so Im guessing their personalities will stand out.

Oh yeah, I miss the Boonie hats too

Agreed. However, most of them are said by Sergeant Johnson. I would like to have more of the nameless Marines have funny lines, like when you are in a huge firefight, or in a lull in a battle, just to have a Marine say some line that makes you laugh. Take the Grunts and Elites for example. The Grunts say some hilarious things. Even the Elites say some pretty funny things. I wish the Marines would be like that, and say sone funny lines.
