In this month's issue of Official XBOX Magazine, there was a "16 page exclusive" devoted to Halo 3. The first thing OXM did was disect the trailer, asking Bungie questions and trying to fill in the blanks. There was nothing wrong with this, and it was pretty cool. Then came their ideas for what they'd like to see in Halo 3. Pretty obvious stuff, the original pistol, drivable Pelican, online co-op, etc. Then I turned the page. OK, more cool stuff like a level with all the Spartans, and other things. But... they also suggested........ a motorcycle (cool) and a SIDECAR. Come on. A sidecar. This isn't the circus. It's Halo. Now here's the worst part. They then reviewed what they didn't want to see in Halo 3. Number one: the Flood. OH MY GOD. What is Halo without the flood? The point of the game is to STOP THE FLOOD. So what's left if you take them out? NOTHING (much). And that's stupid thing #1. Next stupid thing: buddying up with the Arbiter. Woops, too late. The end of Halo 2 shows that you already have buddied up with Arby. Not directly (you never fought next to him), but still. Next stupid thing: playable Arbiter. THE ARBITER IS HALF OF THE STORY NOW. Ok OXM? He's there. He has a huge part. Stop trying to take him out. And here's the worst thing of all: OXM doesn't want any more Halos. Gah! Without the Halos... what's... what's LEFT of the game? Unless MC ends up detonating all the Halos (I don't think he will), then we have to see more. I know some of you probably disagree with me, but that's my take on the idiocy of OXM. Please respond and agree/disagree with me.

They were joking with most of the stuff dumbass.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

I happen to agree with everythign OXM said.

Except for the sidecar art; that was stupid.

Otherwise, everything they said was true.

So they would like killing the covenants on earth with a pistol in a sidecar all game? No flood? No Halo? No Storyline? Just killing with an overpowered weapon in a circus vehicle? Well...Hum... They are OXM...and they are not joking...

Yes, actually, I do.

I think Halo 3 should solely be based on taking back Earth, and destorying the other Halos.

They can talk about the Halos all the want, go right ahead. But I don't want to have to go to ANOTHER Halo and kill MORE Flood...it gets sort of repetitive.

The only Halo I would like to see the Chief go to would be the pieces/remnants of Installation 04 (the Halo 1 ring). That would be cool.

When I saw the Flood appear in Halo 2, I was a little disappointed. I didn't mind the Flood in Halo 1, but I didn't like them either. Sure, a FEW levels on another Halo would be cool, but finding the Flood again? AND playing as the Arbiter AT THE SAME TIME?

No.

I never said that I wanted the Halos to disappear. I don't want them to. I just don't want to go to them in a level, when I could be freeing Earth from the grasp of the Covenant. I would be majorly disappointed if in Halo 3 you have to go to another Halo ring and kill MORE Flood and find ANOTHER Index, and destroy ANOTHER ring...it gets old.

Another thing; don't flame the guys at OXM. They know a helluva lot more about video games than you do, seeing as they are press. They are paid to express their ideas, whereas you are not. If you are paid money to express ideas, you can pretty much say whatever you want to (within reason). I think they are entitled to say what they want to.

I don't think he should go to another new halo, it would be cooler if he had to go back to Installion 04 and do something

Yeah, but RAG3 ON3 and I both mean that you go onto the SURFACE of it. In the opening cutscene of Halo 2, when the Arbiter pays for his mistakes, they are BY it, not ON it.

OXM is stupid to say that "There should be no flood"

Um... HELLOOOOO! You finish all the fights you started from Halo 1 and 2

Also, a cool thing to note, it seems that the assault rifle in Halo 3 now has 32 bullets.

Eh, I agree and disagree.

Most of the OXM staff said they didn't care for back-compatibility before the 360 came out.. And many other things it now has.

They don't have very good opinions, but they do have good reviews.. However, the whole 10.0 on Fight Night Round 3 was ridiculous, and 9.9 on Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was a bit silly as well. (of course, the Versus was fantastic)

I think they overlooked Halo 2, by far.. I don't know, at least the bring the goodies reliably, unlike other Magazines.

Oh, and I seem to have misplaced this month's OXM.. So uh, haven't had a chance to read it. I should get around to finding it.

I'm sorry, but anyone who doesnt want flood in halo 3, is a fool that doesnt understand the storyline. whether you like it or not, the flood and the arbiter are a HUGE part of the storyline now. the game is not about freeing earth from the covenant. sure, in the beginning, master chief will try to stop the covenant attack, bu eventually, he will have to realize that the ark is far more important.

what are the chances of gravemind/the flood NOT coming to earth? i'd say a thousand to one, or more. you can't just end halo 2 with cortana in the clutches of gravemind, flood wreaking havoc on high charity, and the arbiter + new covenant + remaining human survivors and just not mention them ever again.

there is one thing i do agree with in terms of the things they dont want to see. another halo. i agree because the story is now centered around earth and the ark, so it wouldnt make sense to go to another halo if the ark ativates all of them anyway.
