Yes, actually, I do.
I think Halo 3 should solely be based on taking back Earth, and destorying the other Halos.
They can talk about the Halos all the want, go right ahead. But I don't want to have to go to ANOTHER Halo and kill MORE Flood...it gets sort of repetitive.
When I saw the Flood appear in Halo 2, I was a little disappointed. I didn't mind the Flood in Halo 1, but I didn't like them either. Sure, a FEW levels on another Halo would be cool, but finding the Flood again? AND playing as the Arbiter AT THE SAME TIME?
No.
I never said that I wanted the Halos to disappear. I don't want them to. I just don't want to go to them in a level, when I could be freeing Earth from the grasp of the Covenant. I would be majorly disappointed if in Halo 3 you have to go to another Halo ring and kill MORE Flood and find ANOTHER Index, and destroy ANOTHER ring...it gets old.
Another thing; don't flame the guys at OXM. They know a helluva lot more about video games than you do, seeing as they are press. They are paid to express their ideas, whereas you are not. If you are paid money to express ideas, you can pretty much say whatever you want to (within reason). I think they are entitled to say what they want to.
I'm sorry, but anyone who doesnt want flood in halo 3, is a fool that doesnt understand the storyline. whether you like it or not, the flood and the arbiter are a HUGE part of the storyline now. the game is not about freeing earth from the covenant. sure, in the beginning, master chief will try to stop the covenant attack, bu eventually, he will have to realize that the ark is far more important.
what are the chances of gravemind/the flood NOT coming to earth? i'd say a thousand to one, or more. you can't just end halo 2 with cortana in the clutches of gravemind, flood wreaking havoc on high charity, and the arbiter + new covenant + remaining human survivors and just not mention them ever again.
there is one thing i do agree with in terms of the things they dont want to see. another halo. i agree because the story is now centered around earth and the ark, so it wouldnt make sense to go to another halo if the ark ativates all of them anyway.
