Halo 3 Longshore playable on Team Fortress 2 vids

Today, let's reveal what kind of technology Bungie has acquired over the years and what power it possessed.

Umbra 3 technology
- Umbra 3 allows to have vehicle deformation in games, similar to Saint Row; The Third.
- Umbra 3 allows to have flawless optimized performance by disable rendering polygon when it not being drawn from the player's camera.

Havok Engine
-Primarly used as in-game physics.
-Used for multiple of objects interaction.

Grognok Application
-A level editor application that gives tools to create the entire world, perhaps universe.
-Rumored that it's compatible with Autodesk 3ds Studio Max, possibly with Autodesk Maya as to import assets or models into the editor.
-Still remain anonymous until further notice.

Microsoft XNA Game Studio (Sorry I couldn't find the links for the website)
-As previously spotted from the video "O Brave New World".
-Used to make games and applications for mobile, PC, and Xbox platform.
-Primary used in C#

GDC talks; Level of Detail
-Used to improve the performance based on the distance away from the models.
-"Cheats" visualization, making low poly character looks detailed from the distance.
-Program used to make LoD for Halo: Reach is created by Bungie.

Stosh confirmed that the website supports HTML 7.
-Blame stosh :)

Will update more information, but meanwhile, you should discuss the possibility that Bungie has in store for us :)

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

Clearly the new game is going to be my little pony's space adventure.

You forgot about the lasers, you can't forget about the lasers. They are essential to guide the aim of their slingshot.

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Don't they have state of the art motion capture as well?

True, but I don't know much about motion capture. It could be created by Bungie, or just another party application.
I'm more focused towards on what's official.

Heh, I didn't forget that silly forge bug :P
Although I think that's unaffected by the Havok Engine. I think it's part of the forge scripts.

I wasn't thinking of forge specifically, I just know that it's a classic glitch of the Havok System to sometimes deform player models horrifically when they are hit with a lot of force. Happened all the time in Halo 3 Multiplayer, but I imagine it's especially easy to replicate in Forge by slamming someone with large blocks. Fun times.

RIP Flying Bodies Glitch. You are still missed to this day.

My future is certain, I will one day fly away. All because I am saved from the penalty of sin. I know he lives.

It sounds like they have some pretty amazing stuff. Can't wait to see what they are doing with it.

It doesn't matter what they have right now, by the time that the game ships there will be at lest 2 newer (doesn't mean better) versions of software. So I'm looking past this Destiny game.

I'm looking forward to their next game after Destiny. Maybe we should start talking about that. I bet they will call it Remembrance.

Just how they called the sequel to Halo CE "Aura".

That was just one of the XNA dev kits. I don't think they are actually using XNA. The XNA dev kits are just regular dev kits that are branded with XNA.

Gotta love the innovations that Bungie is gonna bring, hopefully!

Adobe Maya is any animator's best friend. ;)

Key

I think it's a little presumptuous to call Grognok a level editor. Terrain editor seems more fitting.

You mean... Autodesk Maya?

I actually used Maya and 3ds max before, and it's really up to the user who use the program favors in the animation sequel.

Also, you left out the farm. Bungie's farm is quite possible one of the most valuable assets they have.
