It was once said that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could reproduce the works of shakespeare... Now thanks to the internet we know that this is not true

One must always consider the source when interpreting a message.

We've been through this already

@Vinyl_Hb

Yes, for example, I don't make threads very often, but when I do they're amazing, because I made it.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

2.) "Agressive Sucks" - Moss Landing
3.) Custom Version of "Meet Oscar" - Louder Productions Music
4.) "Behind You Rise" - Distortion Music
5.) "Aurora" - Mark Petrie
6.) "Surge Down - Audio Machine

Since I'm not a very popular or well known user here, I'd say that you never know.

Like me, people never know what I'll post because I tend to go to different subjects for discussion.

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

I tried to decide which users to quote, but honestly I think just about everyone is wrong.

Affect is simply the verb that means "to cause an effect", while effect is the noun form, which means literally the result of "something affecting something else". There is no separate meaning, they are simply different word forms of the same concept.

EDIT: I might add that there is a somewhat archaic use of the word "affect", which is related to "affectation", essentially putting a pretense of something, or feigning it. (e.g. The man affected a sense of wealth that seemed very misplaced.)

Users effect content.
You posting is also going to effect the reply count.
Someone could make another thread about him posting, and THAT thread would get a lot of replies.

And yeah, I think so. If one user has a bad rep, it's obvious the replies won't be perfect.

They do more than that. They create it.

Is your view of a thread and it's subject affected by who the OP is?

Nope, some members tend to make better threads than others however.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I'm not biased toward specific users, but the quality of the thread often relates to the poster.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Nope, some members tend to make better threads than others however.

I really think we should experiment with this. A3leggedgoat makes a crappy thread and someone will make a good thread. Let us see who gets more comments.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

All my threads seem to die pretty quickly, so yeah i'd say that the user affects the success of the thread. Not so much the content, although some definitely post more quality than others.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

wat.

"I clicked on this because it was a sken thread."

Doesn't that mean a user effected the contents?
