Subject: Alot of Halo 4's campaign seemed too.... fast paced.

I thought the campaign felt rushed when we got to Ivanoff Station. There was little to no info about the huge Halo ring right next to you. At least we know humans retrieved the Activation Index.

Only after reflecting on the events did I understand that Didact manipulated us to release him by using Infinity's communications.

Cortana said exactly that about two seconds after the Didact appeared for the first time.

Did any of you guys feel like this while playing, or is it just me?

No, the only real issue that I had with the game was that the ending wasn't very epic, you didn't get to see first hand the destruction that the composer was reaping, you didn't really get to witness it's raw, destructive power. While you knew what the stakes were, you didn't get to see it for yourself and so it had less of an impact, unlike in Halo: CE with the Covenant curbstomping the Pillar of Autumn, or the Flood clearly decimating anything in it's path.

Sapphire just got even more awesome.

Posted by: THORSGOD: Nor is he ever early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Yeah, it didn't flow very well. Felt like a bit of a patchwork, imo.

It ain't 343's fault that you lads didn't paid clear attention to the story ingame.

Your brains were busy with thinking about brainless shooting without paying attention to the dialog or cutscenes.

Not suprised as you lads are used to games like Call of duty with a story that is filled with terrorists and explosions.
Sounds alot to modern day events which makes it pathetically simple.

Halo is only a step above. Don't let yourself get carried away.

I'm waiting for someone to say 'Shut-up Halo 4's story made perfect sense'.

But for those who don't suck 343i you know what. No, no it doesn't.

I know. They simply left too much of the story to be explained in other mediums.

Yeah I thought the same thing.

I've never been huge on the story for the series in general, but this one was just confusing from someone who doesn't read the books or know all that much about the Halo lore. The whole campaign was poorly paced and rushed. None of the encounters really felt memorable and the whole game seems like a blur thinking back on it. I wanted it to end a good two hours before it did, it wasn't very enjoyable for me.

I agree.

I feel like I was simply breezing through the levels, it definitely feels faster paced than previous Halo games.

I heard someone say once (paraphrasing here) "Multiflag on Blood Gulch with your friends is what makes Halo, Halo." I GUARANTEE that more people agree with that sentiment than "Getting a 50 in MLG is what makes Halo, Halo." - Oboewan42

343i relied too much on extended universe material as a crutch for story telling.

One of the only things I thought was strange was how Cortana and the Chief knew exactly who the Didact was immediately after first encountering him, even though he never identified himself by name/title.

Never really liked the idea of having to read the books to understand some of the plot.

They know him from the terminals in Halo 3

no its legit, i used coordinates, set weapon timers the works.

Well, MC was in a hurry to get whatever he had to do over with since his real mission was to get Cortana to Halsey so she could be fixed.

The story was told horribly. You literally need to read outside sources to fully understand it.

Something that I haven't seen people mention was the covenant allying with the prometheans. Where the hell did that come from?
One minute they're shooting each other, the next Cortana says "oh, they're together now."

Wait, what?

Wait, what?
Covenant worship Forerunners as Gods. The Didact is basically a "God" to them. Prometheans are controlled by the Didact.

Think about it.

And the Didact knew this how, exactly? Did they just stop shooting them and say "hey, we worship your master!"

Because in the cutscene were the Didact first appears. He sees the nearby Covenant all kneel.

I simply assumed he was gathering data since the first mission, where he was "scanning" Requiem's surroundings. Goddamnit, 343, this crap should be explained XD

What you saw was Didact simply taken control of his Prometheans again, hence why they changed from their native blue colour to orange.

Infact Didact even mentions the Covenant kneeling before him in one line.

Also, the large part played by the transmissions you recieve from Cortana and others was a new aspect, one that took me a while to get used to. While I recognized terms like "Infinity" and "Lasky" when Cortana started talking about them, I was confused as to where she got these topics from.
This annoyed me the most.

Yeah, suddenly it was all "The infinity is going to get sucked in!!!" I wasn't exactly all "ah yes the infinity"

Death to rank junkies.

They didn't explain things very well. The first time I played through, I was completely lost. I was asking, "Who the hell is this Didact? Who the hell was the librarian and what the hell happened when you ran into her. Where did you run into her? What the -blam!- is the composer? What was the whole ending sequence with Chief and Cortana?"

I had to play through it again, and look some things up to figure out what the hell was happening.
