Do you want Halo 3 to have the same health system as Halo 1 (Shields and health) or keep it as it were in Halo 2 (Just shields)?

Please discuss.

I want authenticity. How the hell do you ever walk around during war and say "I've got three bars left, then I'm a goner."? I think Halo 2's is very smart; your shields are down, don't do something stupid, and you'll live. No "I can take this many shots based on having this much health".

Basically, I'm an authenticity freak.

Besides health packs are and will always be lame.

I didn't like health packs either. People say the new way is unrealistic, but it can be explained. The suit can have biofoam, which is what wikipedia suggests.

Lol to those people I say, so walking around and picking up a rectangular box that refills your health bar is realistic?

Like falling 80 feet without being hurt is realistic. It's easier to judge time of the fall with your death rather than the distance in H1. How do you resolve that issue? You don't get hurt, unless you're off map, for falling. What an improvement.....

Add a certain amount of measurable fall damage and we're fine.

We're talking about health bars in general for the game, not realism issues. No health bars is more realistic is all he was saying, that has nothing to do with the realism of anything else in the game, like falling

There should be a health bar, but after a few seconds of not taking damage, the bio-foam should kick in and restore your health at a steady rate. (No need for med-packs)

What would be the point of it then? The only thing it would do is be there for show. We don't need it to know that a couple of shots with no shields and we're done.

Well i dont know, if you want authenticity, you'd have brains flying everywhere and there would be a hell of alot more blood, lower jumping, no lunging, no aliens, no funny jokes during a battle... but yeah, but in Halo alot of guns could take out all your remaining energy if you dont have a shield.

I think that the Halo 2 sheild solution worked very well, and was a step above Halo's.

I'd say Bungie should reimplement the shield into Halo 3.

It would just be there so you could tell if you had your maximum health or not. For technology's sake just keep it. If the original suit could monitor health, why would the new one suddenly not be able to?

You did not just bring up fall damage. Ok, the Master Chief has fallen through a planets atmosphere, hit the ground at critical velocity and lived to fight handidly. Yet you want to die if you fall eighty feet? Fall damage is not acceptable in Halo.

Health never actually went away, it just recharged very slowly after the sheild recharged, and there were no health packs.

I think having a health bar would be fun b/c sometimes you will fill someone with rounds and then just when one more smg bullet will kill them they go through a beamer and disapear.
I like not being hurt when you fall even if it's not realistic

When did he fall into the atmosphere?
Books. He may have not actually fallen through a planets atmosphere, I vaguely remember. I am certain though he was flying toward Reach in a reinforced Pelican and had to jump out, they fell thousands of feet.

Being shot several times and you can still keep going without limping or groaning with each step trailing blood isn't any more authentic as having a health bar. Instant heal does exist in the Halo universe-the Biofoam. It patches up the wounds, but the pain doesn't go away.

I think the Health should return (although I doubt Bungie is going to put it back in-how does it work for the Arbiter? Unless they think of something else). Not as Halo's heath bar, simply a small meter gauge between the shield and motion tracker.

I liked the health bars. I made you worry about what you're going to do next. If you were down to two you couldn't just run 'n' gun the next part. You had to be careful.

In Halo 2 if you stuffed up one bit you just had to wait till you were healed and then you could do it all again.

You could never "Run N' Gun," in either game. You would get your ass kicked.

I use to always run n' gun Halo 1. That made for some mad fights with the Flood.
