The books do have a lot more, obviously. They are also easier for theories because then you can just copy from the book perfectly, but on the game you could mishear something and you can't pause during the cutscenes. I think the main reason that the books have more is because of playability. So much of the game would have to be scripted to include the stuff from the books. Oh, and the books do have some good quotes, a few of the important ones are in my sig (the "the prophecy soon proved correct" is a quote as well, from The Flood).

i was thinking more along the lines of what do you think the books and games give away that make you think about whats going to happen in halo 3. like the ARC, covvies in Africa. etc.

The books can be alot like the games, but they probably aren't giving hints about H3.

Oh, well, I have my own little theory that I plan on typing up soon, don't you worry, just watch the threads. I plan on having it by the 7th, but right now my Halo books and one other thing I need are packed away for a day or two.

This is probably the quote that defines my theory, though: The prophecy soon proved correct... (I'm not going to give you the context of the quote because that would ruin it)

but they do. did you notice when the chief got back to earth in the forrunner ship, it was almost the time same as when he left. fighting, and such. i think this because of the crystal shards in the books. they bend time/space. i think reget had a shard and used it to come back to earth right after mercy left, to go to earth. because mercy "jumped the gun." and went to earth not knowing the humans were ther. he just thaought, the crystal shard as there.

I certainly hope it will be convincing, it definitely seems that way to me. Unfortunately, I currently don't have the entire thing worked out, but I have figured out the roles of the Prophet of Truth, Gravemind, the Flood, 343 Guilty Spark, Tartarus, and the Master Chief and Cortana.

To mc_s117: Yeah, they are giving us at least as much information as the games do, because they have that story. And for my theory, they give the added information. And the added information usually doesn't have anything to do with the story, just how they describe what happens in the game. So basically, the books can help in more ways than just added story.
