yo, bungie should not do the same marketing as they did with halo 2.. Halo 2 was for more a casual gamer. HOnestly, to end the halo trilogy with a bang, I feel that halo 3 needs to be targeted on the hardcore halo gamer... Im talking about the loyal halo fans. Not some 10 yr old kid who saw that cool halo 2 commercial and realized how easy it is to play. No. The marketing needs to be changed and they should not show anything for halo 3 till its released... Sure it will make ppl go insane, but another video will only add to the hype, thus the halo 2 haters that were created.

Amen.

Ugh, I hate to be the killjoy here, but personally I'm against Bungie releasing a playable demo or another trailer. Remember what they did with Halo 2? They kept releasing screenshots, several trailers, details, and such. Which led to big time spoilers,

What "Big time spoilers" are you reffering to? The only spoiler there ever was was a rumor of an Elite campagn, and that was because the game was leaked.

overanalysis by fans who examine the trailers frame by frame thinking up of anything that they saw or think they saw, and flooding the forums from one end of the internet to the other with enough speculation to practically piece the story together.
The same thing is happening now, but even on a larger scale. No one came close to Halo 2's story, and they wont with Halo 3.

Not to mention everyone was disappointed when nearly all the stuff they originally promised and showcased was cut from the game or otherwise modified it in some way.
Again, who are you reffering to?

It seems Bungie did learn from their mistake by keeping Halo 3 a secret til this point. If it was Halo 2, they'd already be indulging the fans with screenshots, release dates, and updates. So, I think it'd be better to keep everyone in suspense.
Agreed, Halo 3 should have been kept a secret untill now, but do you know what we knew at this point in Halo 2's development?

"ZOMG A NU GUN!"
"THEY FOUNG AERTH!"

It hasn't been a month yet since the game was announced. BE PATIENT. They might show something at the Tokyo Show, maybe not. They'll probably show something at e3 07. Maybe not. Do something productive while you wait.

Am I the only person posting in these forums who joined before Halo 2?

I hope they release a one minute movie (not gameplay because that is always reserved for game trade shows like E3. Also a 3D screenshot of the chief kicking ass and taking names would be cool; and in my opinion, better.

He is refuring to the 2003 E3 "realtime demo."
Thisng cut out like...
The new "other" weapon the Brutes used.
Melie combos.
ATV.
Jungle Hog.
Hog transporter.
All out war on Earth.
...ect, ect, ect.

If you have the TV spots (like I do)
it shows the earth in flames and blackend
like the halo 2 announcement trailer.
I am thinking, isn't that false advetising (content wise?)

So as a warning dont presure Bungie into make movies
and trailors when they could be using that time to make the game.

On the TV spots it just shows the night side of Earth.

I believe I misread one of his ponts (typical for someone who had been asleep 20 minutes earlier), but I stand by my other statements.
