Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Get a Geforce 5500 PCI card. You can find one on Newegg.com

That's the absolute best care you will be able to get for your PC.

Steam: RageRunner32 | StarCraft II: RageRunner | Lets play Pc sometime :)

<3

It wouldn't hurt to upgrade to 512 ram. 256 is fine, but most games today require 512 or higher.

And you beat it to me to Newegg Aj!

ps. If you're trying to make Halo look better than the Xbox it's probly not gonna happen. It's possible, but highly unlikely.

Maw

If anything on your computer is "onboard" you need to upgrade it.

Well I would suggest getting the best video card available. Since the video card needed to play it normal is a 32mb/3D T&L capable, I would get the best card possible, well if you hop on over to best buy if you have one close and buy a 40 MB/3D T&L. K there you go man hope your comp. is at its top stage soon

Yeah, a better graphics card would be good, and a bit more ram.

Unless you use Halo Map Tools and edit the bitmaps with Photoshop.

Halo PC does look superior to the Xbox version, what with a higher framerate, and higher resolutions... that is if you play it on a top-of-the-line high-end PC. HPC does look better, but not with your specs.

no you dont need a top of the line computer. You can get away with 40+fps on a 6600GT at a resolution of 1280x1024.

Yes, I was exaggerating there a bit, but the active camoflauge doesn't shimmer like the Xbox version's, and the teleporters like the ones on Blood Gulch don't shimmer like the ones on the Xbox. Gearbox screwed up on that part.

My comp with 2 gigs of ram, dual core cpu at 3 GHz, and dual PCIe Geforce 6800s, does not run halo with better quality than xbox. Better resolution and fps, but no computer can look exactly like or better than the xbox. Wrong shaders, ect. On the other hand, my bro's comp, which is a cheap dell comp with an Radeon X300 gpu, gig of ram, and 1.5 GHz cpu, looks so amazingly like xbox, including immense amounts of gloss, and perfect camo, that i could swear an xbox has been adapted to the monitor.

Hm. It's definitely the intergrated graphics onboard that's doing all this to you. I would go with what they suggest above, but swinging by the top of the stickies and checking out The Buyer's Guide to Graphics Cards would also be a good idea.

you could use a bit more ram...it would make not just games but your PC faster all together. I would sugest a geforce 6100. I know I know most peiople will say it's crap but I pushed my resolution up to 1440 by 900 with barly any framrate issues. But I have alot of ram 1.2 gb so it makes sence. Get better ram first then buy a GPU

The Solution:

Get an Intel iMac 20 inch with a 250 gb hard drive, a good video card, and lots of RAM. All your problems will be solved.

No, get a good PC with an AMD processor, a 250 GB hard drive, a good video card, and lots of RAM. :D

No, an Intel iMac. All you have to do is plug it in, turn it on, get the system started, install Halo, and play. That's how it works for me. I haven't had a single problem with Halo yet. Trust me, you can just set it up, and play. It's that simple.

Maybe for Halo, but Macs simply aren't worth it IMO, because they're expensive and not a lot of software works for it. (Compared with a Windows PC)

Either way, it's not going to look bad. (Though, I prefer PCs, as they make better, cheaper gaming machines than Macs.)

250 gigabytes.. whoa...

It is worth it. Think of it this way. It's like the difference between buying a Hyundai and a BMW. The Hyundai being the PC and the BMW being the Mac. Sure, they're both cars, and the Hyundai is much cheaper, but it's a matter of performance. A BMW drives and performs much better than a Hyundai, and the same thing applys for a Mac and a PC. Sure, the Mac costs more, but that's because it's built better and stronger.

Nah. It's the other way around, the PC is the BMW, and the Mac is a Hyundai, only except in this case the BMW is cheaper.

Yes, I've seen that RT video, and they specifically said it wasn't an anti-Mac video.
