ITT: Haters discuss about something that isn't bad just for hatin'.
You seem upset.

Funny when someone doesn't like something about Halo, fanboys piss themselves and get in a frenzy.

You can complain about Campaign and Multiplayer all you want, I can see why people wouldn't like those, but you can't say that this is a bad soundtrack. You are just hating for the sake of hating.

Right...

Halo 4's soundtrack is what - the most successful game soundtrack of all time? I believe it achieved some tremendous feat just weeks ago
Great. Some people like the soundtrack. I don't.

Leave your opinions out of the facts....Did you really just say that?

  • 11.20.2012 2:32 PM PDT

The tracks are deliberately different from past games. Until there is a dictionary that objectively defines what Halo "sounds like," the argument that it "does not sound like Halo" will only ever come off as a fanboy argument. This is because you are obviously expecting it to sound like past games and anything that does not sound like the past games will not "sound like Halo" and therefore be automatically inferior.

Whether you believe it or not, realize it ir not, that is a fanboy argument. And it's clear that there are too many Marty fanboys on this forum. Halo 4's music is good, great in many respects even. Is it up to Marty's standard? No, because it is going for a different standard, a more cinematic standard. It's not even trying to be Marty, so comparing it to him is just fanboyism.

"When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmanzy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon—and we had to share the rock!"

-Sgt. Johnson

I like it.

Be sure to tell everyone how cool you are. If you don't tell them, they won't know.

Better than anything that talentless hack Marty could "produce".

Leave your opinions out of the facts.

And CoD is the most successful game franchise of all time. Does that make it the best?

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

I like it, but the music is far too low in comparison to gunfire and dialogue.
Agreed. And there was no option to change the volume. What's up with that?

The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

I love it and have been listening to the whole thing for the last hour or so. My favourites are 117, Nemesis, Revival, and revival remix.

  • 11.20.2012 2:40 PM PDT

I actually think it lives up to the previous Halos, but simply takes it in a different, more cinematic direction. I really like it.

I think it's brilliant. I've even deliberately stayed on the title screen just to listen to it!

Well, you may not like it, but I can say that I got a few very nice tracks to listen to. Some of it was generic, but there are a few that stand out, which is more than I can say for the previous installment.

I'm happy with it.

Doesn't mean it isn't bad to people. Tis just like how people feel about CoD.

I didn't notice it in game, so it must not of been anything special.
That's usually an indication that the soundtrack is extremely generic and contributes nothing to the mood of the game. I knew from the beginning that 343 wouldn't be able to live up to Marty's legacy.

Oh god, the fanboyism is worse than lolReach.

Even if you love Halo 4, the soundtrack is godawful. Whatever though, wtf am I even doing in this thread? I'm just waiting for the population to dwindle down worse than lolReach ever did.

What shall we call the Reachtard 2.0s? Hmmm...

And why the -blam!- are my posts becoming copypasta all of the sudden? Just, wow...

Edit: Did Goat just say it was "the best soundtrack ever", and to "leave your opinions out of the facts"?

No, I don't...

Here's mine: No Marty O'Donnell or Michael Salvatori = No.

'Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?'

It was, um, serviceable. That's about as great a compliment as I can honestly pay it.

Good music can really heighten the experience of playing a game, but in Halo 4 it's just too bland.

I thought the Halo 4 soundtrack was fine, but my problem was that I couldn't actually hear the music most of the time.

  • 11.20.2012 3:07 PM PDT

I like some tracks...

Admit it guys, the main menu suite is actually pretty good.

Yes let's hate it because it's not done by Bungie.
/Every argument against Halo 4 ever.

This, so much this.

This post was so bad it almost gave me opinion cancer.

And i didnt find the music generic at all, its a lot more sinister and mysterious in parts, matches the new directions themes perfectly. In my opinion anyway, thought i'd better say that before other members detest people who like a game they dont.

Also what really bugs me about it is they play the wrong tracks at the wrong time.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

It just doesn't fit with the game.

Also, Reach's was great.

I must be hearing things because the music fit perfectly well within the tempo of the game.
