+1 for you good sir.

I appreciate things for what they are now, not what they used to be.

Quit living in the shadow of what used to be Halo and realize things changed.

OT: I enjoyed it.

Halo 4's is fantastic.

It sounds worse than Reach's soundtrack imo.
You say that like the Halo: Reach soundtrack wasn't amazing. You can blindly hate on the game all you want, but the soundtrack was phenomenal.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

It wasn't bad or anything, but probably not any better than previous tracks.

It sounds worse than Reach's soundtrack

How could anyone hate reach's soundtrack, it's one of the best things about the game. Honestly halo 4 was very atmospheric but some tracks stood out for me. Obviously 117 but there were several others that sounded good, though I don't know their names on the soundtrack.

Reach had a bad soundtrack too.

No reach sounded pretty different from the orginal trilogy's ost but it was still good. Its just your opinion and this deep mindless hatred everyone had for halo reach.

I enjoyed Halo Reach's multiplayer and Customs, campaign...eh not so much. It was nice for Bungie to add in Space Combat, I thought it was a great addition to the game.

YES. I loved reach but the campaign was only fun because the covenant were tougher than ever and because we got space combat and to use a mass driver. Story was boring and didnt feel like the battle of reach was tragic and sad.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I've loved all of Halo's soundtracks. Not having took the time to sit down and go through Halo 4's soundtrack, I can't really give that great of an opinion as of yet. But:

Things have gone from Halo to blockbuster-Halo. Movie Halo. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there just wasn't anything simple anymore. You know? For example, this. So simple, yet so amazing. Maybe there's Halo in this new soundtrack, but from my initial playthrough of Halo 4, all I heard was Halo on the silver screen.

Yes let's hate it because it's not done by Bungie.

Whether you believe it or not, realize it ir not, that is a fanboy argument. And it's clear that there are too many Marty fanboys on this forum. Halo 4's music is good, great in many respects even. Is it up to Marty's standard? No, because it is going for a different standard, a more cinematic standard. It's not even trying to be Marty, so comparing it to him is just fanboyism.

Seriously, this.

"QQ, Halo 4 is bad cuz music doesnt sound like halo"

ODST was a huge departure from the standard Halo motifs, and looking through this thread people loved it.

everything/anything can be compared to sand on a beach

reach's soundtrack was worse.

Agreed, nothing compared to halo 3. I loved Halo 4 but god bless.

Hey, at least the main menu music was decent...

Halo 4's soundtrack is what - the most successful game soundtrack of all time? I believe it achieved some tremendous feat just weeks ago
Great. Some people like the soundtrack. I don't.

Leave your opinions out of the facts....Did you really just say that?

Yes I did because your title is objectifying your opinion.

I'm just telling you what it accomplished to address the hyperbolic nature of this thread.

I haven't posted my opinion of the soundtrack in here yet either by the way.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

The whole art direction was terrible for that game.

some of the music is good, I will admit, but during the scene where the fleet is nearing Installation 3 the music was sooooo out of place.

But you said "Leave your opinions out of the facts".

So by your "logic" that means CoD is the greatest series in console history, right?.

  • 11.20.2012 5:31 PM PDT

I really enjoyed the music. It's not like it's some simple task to live up to what Marty created.

Yes that is what he means by sales of course. No one takes sales seriously, though. If I did I would lose faith in humanity.

Blargh!

Nothing can be as generic as Halo: Reach's soundtrack.

  • 11.20.2012 5:41 PM PDT

I know it isn't halo-ish, but i love it. Only because maybe it's produced by the same guy who does Massive Atttack, my FAVORITE group on the planet :3

Definitely not even close to Marty's level though.

  • 11.20.2012 5:43 PM PDT

I thought it was good, and enjoyed most of it. Marty is overrated anyways.

It sounded EXACTLY like Star Wars, that was the only bad part imo.

Wake me, when you need me.

This was definitely the best song on the track.

Simply stated, this.

The makers of Halo 4's music were far better off at making Halo 4's music than Marty would've been, nostalgia glasses removed from my face. I love Marty, but these two have made a score perfect for this evolution of Halo.
