Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.
-blam!- all of you fanboys!
Because you haven't realized it yet....
But we're all living in hell right now.
That's right, you all died, and this is your punishment for your sins.
The only reason I remain is the hope that I might get a portion of gamers out there to realize 1 simple little thing.
YOU CANNOT TAKE RANDOM PEOPLE FROM THE INTERNET AND FORCE THEM TO PLAY GAMES SERIOUSLY!
I.E. You cannot push ranks and tournaments as the primary focus of multiplayer.
Leave that -blam!- for ACTUAL TOURNAMENTS! You know, those things where you all sit in the same building and hook up through LAN to minimize lag?..... right.
It's because you tried to bring that "Lets make the entire thing a serious deal" mentality to the random masses that inhabit the internet.... is the reason it fell apart.
-blam!- matchmaking.
Funny thing to take note of if you will..
Look at all the threads on waypoint of people crying about other people cheating there way through the grind.
Seriously, it's -blam!- pathetic to even care if people cheat the grind.
"OMG, he's only played 2 games and he's max level!!!! NO FAIR!!!"
