I always thought crouching while playing professional gaming in Halo is quite impractical, since they can see you on your motion sensor even if you crouch. But in Halo 2, they can't detect you if you crouch, which I think is a great technique. I can't wait to melee tons of people in the back when they can't see me on their motion sensors because I'm crouching.
Also, you'll probably get meleed in the back as many times as in Combat Evolved when sniping, because while you are zoomed in with a scope or your built-in binoculars, your motion sensor disappears from the HUD until you unzoom again.
Anyways, I use my motion sensor all the time, and it's saved my life a bunch of times. I especially love meleeing people in the back on Blood Gulch as they run up the ramp, hiding on that ledge above the ramp, when I see them on my sensor.
