I respect the Mormon's rights to believe what they want, but I still think they're weird. I really doubt God will send you to hell for watching TV and eating Junk food.

I don't think that is quite how their religion works.

I feel the same. I'm not Mormon, but there hasn't been a very good representation here.

I disagree with Mormonism on the pure basis that I disagree with Christianity. Though, to expand my understanding of religions, I intend to read the Book of Mormon.

oh how can you be atheist? nothing to look forward to when you die, no good and happy values to live by, no reasurance that somene (god) still loves you no matter what? i wouldnt be scared when my death day comes because i know that heaven awaits me

Oh, how can you be theist? Holding onto fanciful beliefs because you cannot deal with the truths of reality. Your reason to hold morals is because a God tells you to hold morals. Your need to feel loved transcends even reason itself. I am not scared when my day comes - was I afraid of non-existance before I was born?

(like my little spectrum change on what you said? :P)

Twice wasn't enough? The only thing I'll gain from reading it a third time is a more passionate dislike of it.

Reading it from my perspective - more particularily a perspective that does not see it as some grand, divine work - does not put it in a very positive light. Reading it more than once in that light cannot do anything constructive.

And yes, I've read it twice - once in each light.

I certainly won't. There's a lot of mormons where I live. I'd have very few friends if I let their beliefs determine how likeable they are.

Obbi's in AZ like me, he knows that a lot of the population around here is Mormon. I get upset when they repeatedly try to "spread the word" at my front door though.

Actually, I have a confession to make. I am mormon too, and proud of it by the way! Any questions just ask!

I used to fume about it, but no longer. I spent a few years there where all I did was debate on the subject of religion. Eventually I reached a point when I realized I was learning nothing new. I had counter-arguments for every argument made. The only difference was who I made the argument to. I realized that they'd keep coming, and that I would get nowhere. So, I grew tired of it, and eventually stopped.

Since then I've been much more pleasant to the religious folk. I always tried to keep an open mind, but when seeing the same arguments again... and again... and again (for a few years), you get very frustated, very quickly.

If by "you" you mean my consciousness, then yes.

Hell, I can become fully unconscious even while alive. Do something with my brain and I could lose awareness. If in death I go brain-dead, it'd be rather hard for me to be conscious, wouldn't it?

The soul is superfluous.
