Those wierd covenant in the Maw, what are they??? You know the wierd robotic looking ones. Are they the covenant's answer to the Spartan project? Did you ever notice that those grunts carry fuel rod guns and those are what explode when you kill them?

Robotic looking covenant? I have no clue what your talking about and I've played through single player way too many times to count. Could you try and describe them better?

hes probably talking about the spec ops elites, and they show up in Keyes. Also there are fuel rod grunts in two betrayals and keyes. The reason the spec-ops grunts "explode" after they die is that the fail safe on the fuel rod gun is activated and thus behaves like a primed, green, plasma grenade

oops, i was writing this while madcow posted, nevermind

You moron, 343 Guilty Spark is the Monitor (the really annoying floating glowey blue thing that keeps saying that he's a geinus). The Sentinals are just called the sentinals...retard.

Settle down, man. I believe 343 would be considered a type of a robot, what other category would you put it in?

i dont think 343 would be considered a robot. Thats why its called the moniter, dictionary.com says a robot is: 1.A mechanical device that sometimes resembles a human and is capable of performing a variety of often complex human tasks on command or by being programmed in advance.
2.A machine or device that operates automatically or by remote control.
3.A person who works mechanically without original thought, especially one who responds automatically to the commands of others

343 dosnt realy meet any of those definitions, while moniter means:1.One that admonishes, cautions, or reminds, especially with respect to matters of conduct.
2.A pupil who assists a teacher in routine duties.

3.A usually electronic device used to record, regulate, or control a process or system

number 3 sounds like the monitor. the setinals would not be considered robots either since it dosnt meet the criteria of a robot. a sentinel means:
1.To watch over as a guard.
2.To provide with a guard.
3.To post as a guard.

so there kinda guard moniters.
