Sorry if this has been asked but has anyone heard word on weather the Halo 2 ban list for matchmakeing will be transfered to Halo 3?

Caues it is a kinda a 2 way agument. Thow who where banned on the Xbox 1 game prople never bothered to transfer there account to the 360, yet if they didn't re-ues the list it chould give some cheaters who still have there acounts get back to square 1 agien, letting them run havck all over agien.

Any thoughts on this? Should Halo 3's list start from scratch or should it get a bost from the Halo 2 list?

i haven't heard anything really about what will happen to the people who were banned.

i think those who were banned for modding may get a second chance because the 360 is "un-moddable", but those who were banned for stand-bying and what-not should not be allowed back.

I don't think people will go out modding their 360's like they did Xbox's... considering it's a $400 console.

Also, there will most likely be easier ways to detect cheaters. Plus you've got the feedback system, and you can choose what group of people you want to play with.

I'm not worried either way.

Their gammer tag is banned, so before the game is released, Bungie could enter their tags into the banhammer. Maybe it's done a different way. I don't know.

Just wait, the Modder community just needs time befor they get by it. They always do.

I think they should be banned from halo3. It seems a bit stupid and pointless unbanning people who have cheated even if the Xbox 360 is "unhackable".

I was talking about the ones who are banned from matchmacking, but not banned from XBL.

Bungie should start banning IP Addresses instead of just gamertags, then we wouldn't have anything to worry about.

First of I don't think modders are considered scum. But no I don't think it will carry over. Second chances and what not.

hopefully not, but i guess that's possible. but didn't some professional hacker spend a really long time on the 360 only to get it to play a copied disc of PGR3? well, i guess it only takes one person to find out how to hack it, and then he'll tell others how to do it.

maybe microsoft can send out an update to the 360 where it won't even turn on if it has modded content.

Well the only mod I've hear so far was where they hacked some XBL arcade game to get all the acivments. Nothing major but these "under groud" communitys are makeing progress. Also with downloadable maps for PDZ and CoD2, we chould see a return of the soft-mod.

One thing thow is that there was a Xbox1 modder(s) who created a program that chould be put onto the Xbox's hard drive to make modding easyer it let you Manage mods, and install all ready made mods. This made it so many people who should of NEVER been able to mod, magicly chould mod now.

If we ever saw something like this happing agien for the 360. You can expect a larg influx agien in modders.

Right now thow only a skilled hacker who knows what there doing can do any thing with a 360. Even when people start figureing out how do soft mods agien, only a skilled modder chould follow the directions to get by and do what they want.

But as I said, if this modding made simple program was to ever return we whould have the same modder head ach as in Halo 2.

AIM ueses the same IP adress for whole areas. You whould have to be carfull of people on the AIM networks. You chould end up IP banning every one in a whole town who ues AIM.

I agree totally. they shouldn't give em another chance. once a cheat, always a cheat. Once banned, always banned. simple

damn straight!

Sorry M$, but the thought of thinking that your little white box is impenetrable is laughable. It would make me cry if I couldn't graft a Positron Cannon onto MC's left arm!

You spoke too fast, the 360 has been modded and there is a lot of people that download games, and even game saves of 100% completed games (to get the achievements). I won't give any link because I don't encourage modding when it results in piracy.

I don't think Bungie will be allowed to ban them from their next game. That's like banning their gamertag from lets say their next game is "Gnop 2"

They cannot ban them from that, cause it's a new game, in which they didn't do anything.
I think. lol

...Of course they have to find ling ling's head in order to make a sequel...

Well, the XBox was a 400 dollar console at one point.. That's not the issue. Jerks go way out of their way to be jerks..

However, I'm positive Bungie will implement all the counter-cheating measures they now have into Halo 3's launch, so cheaters will be caught sooner. Of course, there will always be something that takes longer to catch, but cheaters will be cheaters. :)

I feel weird for even saying this, but I think banned people should get a second chance. That being said, If they cheat, mod, stand-by again, Bungie should send an electrical pulse to their 360's that will fry the system. It's extreme, but you can't say they haven't been warned.

Or just don't give them a second chance? It's not like they weren't told the consequences..

My suggestion: Everyone enjoy Halo 3 MP as quickly as possible, before the modders have a chance to figure out how to crack Halo 3 as well.

360's as of now cant be modded...

Yes, they can. There have already been 3 firmware cracks circulating through the internet. It's not as hard as Microsoft claims it to be.

Why not just hire a SWAT team for that purpose?... Visiting cheaters in their homes and fry their x-box 360 with a flame thrower
