I thought it was good that is how I think the end of halo3 should be like. A sad yet proud and heroic way of going out with a BANG. I read somewhere in one of my topics of MC dieing earlier today and someone said something along the lines of "MC is down the human race is not gonna be saved" but what if MC dies but wins doing it then he always will have had victorys and never defeats.

Pretty good dramatic ending, but I would prefer if all the big questions weren't answered all at once, but rather over the course of the game. All that information at once would be a bit overwhelming.

I like the flash-back idea; again I think it would be cool if they had the flashbacks spread throughout the game. MC could have different flashbacks throughout the game and at the end they all fit together giving him a deeper character. Flashbacks could include his training, Fall of Reach, etc. It would make for some interesting cinematics and cutscenes.

good good good that was almost perfect and i say that because what about seeing his face i mean it cant be the end with out seeing his face and what of johnson or key's daughter or the other halos but i have an idea about that cutscene of yours instead of just seing his past u play it, like his training and his childhood.

Yea, thats a pretty good ending, but I had one too, just tell me if you like it.

- I dont know the events leading up to this, but if you play off of the theory that the Master Chief has to detonate Halo, this is my ending.

There is a long hallway, like in the Silent Cartographer, where at the end is the station, or the security station thing to get into the real place, whatever. But the Master Chief has to detonate it, and he starts to go down the hallway, i dont know what music would play, but it would be cool, like the Last Spartan from the H2 soundtrack, and as he is walking, a covenant sniper, or some other possibly important character with a sniper rifle, is at the beginning of the hallway. The sniper aims at the Master Chief, and fires, it pierces his leg, and the Master Chief gasps with pain.

Then he stands up after kneeling, and continues to walk, he is getting closer to the activation of the Ark station, the sniper aims again, and hits his shoulder, below it, the Master Chief completely falls down, and the music stops, and its just like a gasp of pain sound and then like the sound effect at the begging of the Mjolnir Mix on the H2 soundtrack,
and then he looks up.

He sees that the hallway ( he is very, very close to the station ) is lined with ghost almost , of the people he new, imagine that maybe Sgt. Johnson died or something. And the other Spartans, and then the spartans next to him come closer and seemingly pick him up and he stands up with their help, and he continues walking and he takes out the Index or the activation thingymabob for the Ark, and hes right there, with the ghost looking at him, and he looks at the ghost of either Sgt. Johnson, the Arbiter, whoever, and the nod lightly, and he puts the activation thingy into the grid, and pulls it, nothing happens, but he looks to his left, and theres the ghost of Captain Keyes, possibly someone else, and the salute,

Then the 5 notes from the H3 teaser play, you know, the awesome ones play. and he salutes back,

Then either the Arbiter, or Sgt. Johnson comes up behind him, and the Master Chief at this point ( you can tell ) is dieing, cause he was hit in a previous battle, and then the Master Chief collapses, and the person behind him says some inspirational kinda cool quote like " you always win Master Chief" and then everything goes kinda white in a fade in,

credits roll

- Im still working on this ending, but tell me if you like it, i think its a cool way to end the best game of all time.

Oh yeah? what about this one?

MC and the Arbiter are at the ark. there are literally thousands of covenant, flood, and any other things that hate them are all charging toward out heros. the mc and the arbiter come back to back. Mc says "u with me?" and the arbiter nods. they are about to get overrun when about 20 phantoms and pelicans come toward them. the phantoms drop off Half Jaw and a whole bunch of elites. and the pelicans drop off the new spartans that were going into training on reach before it was burned(yeah i know reach got destroyed. but maybe they escaped. spartans are very important, so they probably got first class treatment). then they all come into a circle and Blow Me Away starts playing. Then you get to fight off the hordes of enemies and everyone is invincible. then when it all seems its going to be alright, high charity warps in and starts recking hell every where, so master cheif goes up to fight gravemind and rescue cortana, while the Arbiter stays behind and goes to fire the ark to stop all the flood. im not sure. my ending needs some work. the spartans were pretty cool though.

ODST Romeo

A sad ending may not be great for a possible sequel, but it sure will beat the h311 outta anyother ending, thnk about it kiddies, MC getting killed after saving all of humanity. The flash backs would be sweet, but need to be sad, like his mom smiling or watching his fellow spartans dieing, and after the credits have cortana and someone else who is close to MC congratulating him...I made this up on the spot so it may suk... I also like kennyw00dis0pen
post, MC getin shot dying while savin us and seeing a ass load of flash backs, gettin all of your questions would be overwhelming, but would settle in and you would start to cry and think about suicide because now that its over you have nothing to live for... x_x

I don't really like either of these endings, this should be the Master Chief's great triumph, not an overly cliched facet of popular culture that subsists of killing the main hero.

Here's my idea:

The Master Chief and the remenants of the Covenant and UNSC are retreating from a Flood tide that has surrounded and is about to overrun the Ark. Six additional Spartans are there with him, along with Sargeant Johnson, Captain (newly promoted) Miranda Keyes, and the Arbiter. The Marines are yelling at each other and the Elites to hold them off just a little bit longer. They retreat to the Ark, with the Master Chief and Arbiter defending the doorway.

The Arbiter: Go, human, and gain this victory that we have fought so hard for.

The Master Chief hesitates and fights on.

The Arbiter: I said GO! I am no longer needed, and your courage must lead them all into the future.

The Master Chief runs to the Control Room, where the tattered remanents of an alliance remain. He begins to seal the Control Room from outsiders as the Arbiter makes his way into the chamber, fighting as the Flood overtake him, he cries out in pain as the Master Chief seals the control room doors. Others rush to support him as a live camera feed appears on all of the monitors.

Dr. Halsey: Master Chief, stand down. With all intents and purposes, this is not to be your end. I have seen you grow into the son I never had, but you must know that you are the only one with the strength to carry us.

Dr. Halsey: Remember, what I told you about the sacrifice of one for many. You gave your whole life to the service of humanity, now I must give mine to allow you to finish this.

The Arbiter rises as a Flood form.

Master Chief: Yes, ma'am.

Dr. Halsey: And Chief, I have one special request... look after my daughter, Miranda, for me.

Captain Miranda Keyes tries to hold herself back as the camera transits to a ship Dr. Halsey is piloting. The ship slams into a significant portion of the Flood as the Master Chief inserts the Index and slams the button. The room turns to an almost ethereal white as the Halos fire across the galaxy. The blast causes much of the sentient life in the galaxy to disintegrate as the Ark is taken to a new world within the range of Installation 04. The Master Chief collapses from exhaustion and staggers against a wall and the triumphant remenant builds a brand new world.

The Master Chief later ventures into a forest acting as a hunter, still in his trademark MJOLNIR Armor. He suddenly turns and finds the ghosts of his dead friends gathered there, overjoyed at their final victory.

Sam: It is finally over, sir. Thank you.
Master Chief: Yes, we have finally won.

They salute as Sam and the other ghosts vanish into the wind.

I see what you guys are saying about the ending, the " theyre all closing in on us" but it would be a very good change of pace for the end for it to not be a blow out action sequence, and i DO NOT want flashbacks in my ending, for a reason ill explain in some other post like tomorrow, cause i cant do it with my new account and its my beddie time[jk] [not jk]

Ok, i decided to give my reason for the no flash backs , Im sorry but just bear with me,

I do not like the Halo books
I do not believe that the ending of Halo 3 should have anything to with the books, simply [ not really] because of this

The halo books explain a facet of the Halo universe that the average Halo player would not understand, the majority of the Halo players have not read the books! and Bungie is delievering to a higher audience than the people who have rread the book, Bungie is sticking with the information that the games and the games only have given you, i do believe that the ideas of the Colenol Ackerson and Dr. Hasley are good, but it just doesnt make sense!

Imagine that the gamer who has not been reading the Halo books has his copy of Halo 3 tell him a bunch of stuff back to back, its like going through the first 6 Harry Potter Books and then in the 7th saying " oh yea Harry, um, theres this guy you see, yea, his name is Lord Voledemort, and um, he wants to kill you, so uh, you got to have this huge show down with him, sorry man"

it justs honestly doesnt make sense, introducing half the plot of a game in the finale!? honestly! have you ever seen this done before?

I just dont agree with the majority of the book readers on this topic, my ending sticks simply to what the game shows you, and the spartans in my ending? every single Halo player can agree from general knowledge that the Chief is the last spartan, and if the endings you suggest would happen, i would have like to see it in the past few games, the plot being developed, because its a very good plot

I just dont agree with anyone on this matter.

That was bad. You said his escape was immenent even, WTF happened? Where would be the massive amount of troops that staged the assault on high charity? I know for a fact, the Elites would give the flood a lot of crap before they got over taken which would require weeks of attack. He already knows what the rings do BTW.

ALSO: I am sure that the only way for the allied forces to actually consider attacking that flood-infested hell-hole would be by huge force. There are millions of Elites and a ton more hunters and grunts. They would be able to take the city, regardless of how much flood was there. A huge assault of the city would be a pretty sweet last level or somethin near there huh?
