NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNǢUM

Should there be a "cooldown" time for new accounts, such as you have to wait like 24-48 hours to post for the first time. Maybe this way it would bring down the amount of alts that occur in the Flood everyday. Does this seem like a good idea or is it going to far with power? Thoughts?

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

No.

Dealing with "problems" should not result in restricting users from accessing the site. If someone genuinely creates a new account here, they may be put off by the fact that they're already treated like they aren't welcome. This "fix" doesn't even solve your "alt issue" because all malicious users would have to do is wait an extra day to do whatever they want on their alts.

Your best tool right now is one that you already possess (yer smarts). Just don't give their acting out any attention.

Though admittedly, it seems pretty difficult for some of our community members to do so, which is sad because I know that most, if not all of you are fairly bright individuals who could do this easily if you wanted to.

I understand your line of thinking, but are we really solving the problem?

What is the problem? The problem is that people create alt accounts on a daily basis to harass other others and create anarchy in the forums just for getting a laugh out of it. Because of them, we should restrict all other users that sign up for bungie.net?

Achronos has mentioned previously that on any given day, there are always more readers than posters (referring to 1% rule). For the average user that signs up on bungie.net to post a thread and ask a simple question, wouldn't this hinder them?

If the problem is spam, why not create a solution for spam? The best tool to use is for members to simply ignore them. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Don't give them attention, don't post anything. Post in good threads, not bad ones. The good threads will rise to the top, the bad ones will be sunk. Unfortunately, most new members don't understand this principle. Fortunately, Achronos has already promised us to whip up a solution for bungie.next.

I understand it wouldn't be fair to legit users, but there seems to be a lot of alts in Flood everyday. Doing nothing but causing chaos, trolling, flaming, etc.

EDIT: I'd like to know what Achronos meant by change exactly.

In my experience here, the Moderator's are very good at seeing behind the veil and know when an alt is up to no good. It's sort of uncanny actually.
