Ok so Halo 3 is in the making. In my honest opinion the Trailer was breathtaking. Bungie couldn't have made it better. Everthing from the graphics to the music was fantastic. Possibly by late 2007 we'll have that good feeling when we purchased Halo 2 but 10 times all over again. One of the best parts of Halo 2 on XBL was Matchmaking. While most of us stick to customs- whether it be zombies, hide and seek or the more competitive ones like MLG FFA- we all had a time in Matchmaking some time or another. So here's the question: What's Matchmaking going to be like in Halo 3?

First, I'd like to call out some favorites about some playlists in Halo 2. Rumble Pit is probably the best in my opinion. Even though Team Slayer is the most popular Rumble Pit actually teaches you how to play. It was a 99% legit playlist before the bridging and still is the most legit. I've seen so many level 39's get their 40's in Rumble by simply owning the heck out of everyone in the game at that time, yet I've seen so many 39's in Team Slayer get their 40's by modding, standbying or bridging. Many get the impression that Rumble Pit is filled with kill stealers. Thats at level 20. Its great to take kills from people who can't finish their own. Play Team Slayer after and it will be a lot easier... But at level 32+ in Rumble its all about 4 player matches for example on Lockout. Players literally beat eachother down for ranks that mean something and actually feel good to get because no one carried you or helped you out. You got it all yourself. 100% legit. Not like in Team Slayer when you get T-Bagged after you got standbyed. Its that mentality that Rumble players have. Most of the n00bs don't play it because they're bad and all the people who do don't cheat because they know their good. You can see this even if your not a high rank and play the training playlists. Team Training has a lot more quitters because they really don't care about being good, just about winning. When you take that to Team Slayer it means win no matter what. Cheat even. In Rumble Training players enter to win or get good. I mean, look at the time of the leaderboards. Almost 97% in my opinion of the Rumble Pit leaderboards were filled with legit legends. Only once in awhile would you get standbyed by the random host, or maybe two 41's would get together for a bit to boost. That was ONCE in awhile. Like 50 games once in awhile. There are thousands of 40's in Team Slayer. At the time of the leaderboards their were only like 5 40's in Rumble. Anyone that played them knew if they were legit or not because there were so little amounts of high level players. Around the 34 rank you play the same 40's and 43's. So you know almost everyone by rank 37. Rumble Pit was that good about year ago. Now its filled with getting bridged out by level 34's in Team Slayer who can't seem to break a 25 in Rumble Pit. So I would like Rumble Pit to stay for sure. Team Slayer was a legit playlist for about a few months after stats reset, but after the modding came out Team Slayer was again the haven for cheating nubs. Team Slayer seems to not have any skill until you reach 35, then you have to put up with cheaters and nubs on your team at the same time. 31's will still go 4 kills with 17 deaths- you'd expect them to know how to play Halo by the time they're 31's, and 38's on the opposite team will always get host and cheat you. I remember one time I went in as a 36 one game from 37 in Team Slayer and we were losing to some 38's with host on Terminal because they had the wraith the whole time. I ended up jacking the wraith and started our team on a comeback. Sure enough when we were beating them 48 to 42 they started standbying and we lost. That's how wrong people are in Team Slayer. Its funny if everyone who played Halo 2 were 17 and older, "mature" their wouldn't be all that cheating. I'm 18, have been playing Halo 2 an hour or so every day on average ever since it came out. With a week break every now then and there I come back and see the same stuff. That doesn't mean that every level 40 in Team Slayer is a cheater. Their are plenty of legit players out there. Everything from level 37's in Team Hardcore to 44's in Rumble Pit. It's funny how I've had nearly 10 XBL gamertags, many 2 months but 3 year accounts. I've helped a lot of people, and have been a matchmaking whore if you will. With many level 40's in Team Slayer, 35's n up in Double Team and many 35's in Rumble Pit I've NEVER been banned in any way. I wonder why. Maybe its because I've never standbyed, joined a modders party or bridged someone out. I enjoy reading the whambulance. Ignorant little nubs I just wonder what they're like in real life. It's called play Matchmaking and if your good you'll get the rank you deserve.

A lot off subject, so what is Halo 3 Matchmaking going to be like?

I have no idea, but I hope that it holds the same mechanics like Halo 2 did. Halo 2's party system is years above its time and Matchmaking is the most ingenious way for players to play for ranks I've never seen before in an online game. I don't know how Bungie does it but I'm sure they'll have many surprises for Halo 3. All I want, if decided or possible is:

1. Keep Rumble Pit and other favorite playlists like Team Slayer. Possibly the same names. I'm sure many players wouldn't want FFA deathmatch or something that would make Halo look like any other game.
2. The Hardcore playlists will most likely be gone for awhile until MLG decides how Halo 3 will fit into their rules.
3. If at all possible, please include dedicated servers. Games like Battlefield 2: MC have dedicated servers and that helps but Halo 3 NEEDS them. With dedicated servers lag would be at a minimum, no bridging would occur, and modders would be detected instantly. Matchmaking would again obtain the the meaning it once had. Ranks would have a reason to get and everyone would have a chance. The good Team Slayer players would return and matchmaking would get even more challenging. Rumble Pit would be alive again with the legends and the "newbs" would keep the rank they deserve.

I understand that Halo 2 has a massive amount of online players and dedicated servers would be almost impossible to imagine but anything is possible. I just wouldn't want the last game of Halo I play or anyone else playing- getting standbyed just like old times in Halo 2 three years ago.

Other than that its your game Bungie. You do what you want with it. After reading this, people please leave some feedback and YOUR ideas on how you would like Halo 3 matchmaking to be like.

Wonder the moment...

When life gives you lemons, make apple juice and let life wonder!

That post touched my heart, jk but it proves u are smart and know what The better (better at the game and better at life) want so i agree with u on the Halo 3 servers so none of the better (same thing) people will get cheated, plus cheating in real life is against the law
