Subject: Halo 3 Physics and Destructable Enviorments Thread

I never saw this in the hot topics, so I made this.

Discuss anything pertaining how vehicles should be destroyed, battle damage, destructable enviorments, and overall physics.

I don't have an ideas at the moment.

I really hope that most of the environments and objects in the game are destructable. I remember in Halo 2 they promised destructability but it ended up being a wall in the Outskirts level of the SP campaign adn a wall covering the turrets in Zanzibar. Very dissappointing. HOpe that in Halo 3 the 360 allows them to carry out Black levels of destruction.

everything is destroyable
the walls, the ground, the sky
EVERYTHING
shoot enough rockets you can get to the other side of the planet

Black is too destructible.

Also, the physics will be very similar to Halo 2's. Very similar.

I know it takes up game space but i wish debris would be on the map for MUCH longer. Like i want to clog allyways in turf with the warthog but then it jsut dissapears. I also want EVERYTHING to be destructabe...i mean if you shoot a rocket launcher at a building it sure as hell is gonna colapse sooner or later.

What I want:

- More realistic deaths.
- Every rock, building, tree destructable.
- The MC Taking damage on his armour and showing it (would be nice to look at online)
- Be able to blow up a hog even if the guy is not dying.
- Maybe have the wind be able to scatter little pebbles and soil.
- Be able to make holes in walls when you melee (I mean c'mon. We know he can do it. He can friggin kill a grunt in one punch).
- I liked ghost ramping in halo 1 =[

There is a completely new engine so there is no reason the physics will be the same as Halo 2s. They should be a lot better.

Being able to affect the way the hog handles.

Ex:

Shooting the tire a few times makes it flat, or shooting the hubcap make the tire come off rarely, and u can put it back on.

Why are they trying to use Newtonian physics to model the game? I mean come on....gravity doesn't actually exist.

The ability for vehicles to have critical hit places.
Like if u hit the ghost with a shotgun in front the front will blow off and the ghost will blow up. And if u shoot the hog in the bottom back, gas tank, the back will blow up and maybe it will fall off but the other players will only be critical.

I'm hopeing you will be able to shoot out lights to darken areas for better hiding.

Also for them to fix there phsics engien they uesed in H2 or go with a whole new engien so we don't have the "Super jumps"

I've heard rumers that Halo 3 was going to ues the Half Life 2 engien, witch isn't to bad caues Vavle did a realy good job on it. You see the detil of how well it works quite nicely in Gmod, and other ueser created maps.

Definately bigger secondary explosions on vehicles, if you blow up a ghost and then stand on it until the secondary explosion go's off you might lose 1/8th of your shield the only way it kills you is if the explosion launchs the ghost directly in your direction and then splatters you, in my entire time of playing halo this has only happend once for me and it ruled, rocketed the ghost guy and his team mate walks right past the ghost as its secondary explosion goes off and splatters him.

that annoys them so much i do that when i havr a sniper then the ghost blows up and they are like wtf
