I liked the flood better in Halo 1 then in Halo 2. In halo 2, I never really got the feeling of being swarmed by a brainless parasite. In Halo 1, taking on entire hallways of flood were some of the best moments in the game. Now there are hardly any carrier forms, and even less infection forms.
I personally was unhappy with the stupidity of the Flood in H1. I could not believe they posed a threat to the universe. They were too dumb to drive a warthog, let alone a space ship. H2's Flood levels gave me a sense of desperation. In Sacred Icon, you watched as the sterile, bright rooms of the Wall transformed into the foggy hell of the Quarantine Zone. High Charity was much worse, bloated Flood mounds loomed out of the darkness and Gravemind proudly announced the bright center of the Covenant was now his grave.

Judging by how they keep getting smarter, I believe in H3 you will have to beat Gravemind at writing poetry to save the galaxy.

Ive beat Halo 2 on legendary and its quite difficult. But nothing is in comparison to the dreded flood missions. Its even hard on easy mode really do you want to have flood missions in Halo 3?

You noobish freak! Of course!
The flood made the exciting twist in the story that made players love the trilogy even more!

This is exactly why Halo 2's campaign sucked..no suprises..Flood are important, but we also need another plot twist to impose a threat on the MC/Spartans/Humans

..The Spartan-III's? Howbout the surviving 9 Spartan-II's?

Halo 3 will most likely be boring like Halo 2's campaign if it's the same thing again..we need another twist like the Flood was in Halo..something no one expected, and that poses a major threat to us..

yeah i thought the flood were done in H1 so... why bring em back in H2 and hopefully definitely not in H3 cause thats just repetitive and boring and nothing new... the flood are done... i hope. kill the covenant and let the halo rings float about as if they never were found because i think the chief and humanity is more focused on the Covenant whom is trying to destroy them as opposed to the flood whom is.. on a ring, quarantined. Don't be like George Bush and start attacking Affghanistan and then suddenly change enemies to Iraq... focus on the Covies.... please!!!!!!!!!

The levels with Flood in them shouldn't be so repetitive. That's one factor why people would say fighting Flood is boring. I think the Flood was a improvement in Halo 2, especially on legendary(they're pushovers compared to the Covenant). I wonder if they can be even more aggressive and vicious by Halo 3. Even more dangerous, is whether the Flood can employ combat tactics that was instilled in the original host, rather than charging you blindly.

And yes, there should be Marines this time around. Halo exaggerates the Flood, whereas, the Flood don't seem as largely depicted a threat in the novels. The Marines in the books can hold their own pretty well against the Flood, such as capturing the Truth and Reconciliation.

Personally I can only play flood missions when I am in a certian mood, but I dont see why the flood would be in Halo 3 because at least the first 1/3 or the game takes place on Earth, or it most likely does.

Exactly, But I hate Flood. So I rather not.

Honestly, there are probably Flood on Earth. So far all of the Forerunner structures related to the Great Journey have been infested with Flood. I wouldnt blink an eye if Flood are stored inside the Ark. The Ark of the Covenant.....what represents the wrath of God better than the Flood?

I agree the Flood are a nuisance but they are a necessary evil.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

The Flood are the single most important entity in the Halo series. People need to accept this. They are the reason there is a Halo, the reason there is a Covenant, the reason we are fighting a war. Do not fool yourselves - the Flood are here to stay.

I think there should be like 3 flood levels just to get the story line right and focus the rest on the covernet because most people have more fun fighting them as MC

As the Dude with The Prophet Avatar said: The Flood are Needed in the Halo story Because that is one of the Reasons people keep coming back because they love to kill the Flood. But I am one of the People who don't like the Flood. Not Because I find them Hard to kill but because they have no more Punch like they used to. I remember when I First played Halo and on the Level 343 Guilty Spark I was freaked out and then that Cutscene where the MC Whatches that Movie from the Marines point of view then Realized that the Flood where there I was like aHHH Let me out. But then In the Later Levels I got used to Fighting them And now they are like Babys with Screwdrivers. So I hope the Guys @ Bungie bring out a new Species Because I love 4 way Battles. By the way PM me with some great Battle Scenes you went Through Because I want to know what you think.

You can't blame the idea of the Flood for, let's face it, somewhat below-par implementation of them in Halo 2. In Halo CE they had some repetitive levels, but the gameplay was very intense and it added a nice survival horror element to mix up the feel a bit. With decent level design and better setting of atmosphere they can as be important to the next Halo game as they are to the story.
