I've played games like FarCry:Instincts, FarCry: Evolution and Pariah, all of which have map maker. And without map maker would be crap. The only problem is if Bungie in fact does put a map maker in Halo 3 it would be cool, but it will make players constantly making and editing their maps, when they should be admiring the actual maps givin' to them. Also Pariah has a Map Maker but other people who have downloaded a map can edit someone else's map, giving themself credit for the map and not the one who originally made it. So I hope Bungie scores good (if there is a Map Maker).

Bungie, if you do put it in make it to where people focus on the game and not making it a competition between who's the better map maker, I've seen fights just like this on FarCry

i think a map maker is needed in H3. i've also played Farcry:instincts:predator and the map maker is one of the best features in the game.

Ya map maker would be sweet. It would also be sweet if you could stop making topics about it.

IDK Bungie has some sweet map design. I really doubt anyone could do better than they do.

What is the reasoning for the people who say no? Seriously, please explain how it will make the game worse... You don't have to do it... It's not like every time you press "A" to advance to the next screen, a pop-up will appear telling you to make your own map... If anything, it will be out of the way, like under Settings... And it would be great to download maps over LIVE... I know none would be anywhere near the quality of Bungie's, but I''m sure there would be some very good ones... I see no reason not to have it, except the delay in release, but it's probably months too late for them to consider this anyway...

It might increase modding, but it will still be good. It would allow cool custum games.

Send me a group invite, and I shall return a harsh reply. Do not invite me to groups. I do not accept. Don't believe me? Look at the list of groups I'm in right now. Consider this your warning.

Think of the ultimate map possible. The map you dreamed about the night before Halo 2 came out, the one you really hoped would be in the game, or something like it. Now imagine being able to make it. Yeah.

if they do a map editor it needs to be just for "lan" games where you can upload it to your friend's box and play it like that... it wouldn't work on live.

also, i doubt they'll do it because "modified maps" are instant bans from live at the moment so....

Halo 3 wont need a map maker, but that would no doubt increase the level of awsomeness off the ricter scale.

-Its a MG42!
-My favorite color is bubble shield

I would do it if it had 3 things.
Customs maps are not used in MM but can be used in a custom party online
If you get a base to start with so you don't have to go completly from scracth and you just add crates and what ever else
You can ass on to prevoust levels like coag and zanzabar.

I don't know though since it may be screwing with superbounching and an easier time getting to the top of the level

No Mapmaker! It'd be too laggy and we'd have to download each 'made' map that we would want to play on, NO MAPMAKER! Only on PC Games >_> kthxbye.

agreed, who wants to have to wait for up to 15 other players to download a map that MIGHT SUCK!

then have to find another game just to find out that that map sucks

there would be SO much quitting in games that it would RUIN the game, think about it, there would NEVER be a map that everyone liked some people would quit, you would never get a game going that actually lasts

The many excellent community maps designed for both UT and Halo say you are wrong.

Great idea but its too complex of a system for bungie too manage. Bungie would do best sticking with the simple.
