In Bungie's defense, the multiplayer/firefight maps were designed first and then integrated into the Campaign.

It's not lazy, it's impossible not to recycle maps. There's simply not enough time and resources to make brand new missions each week.


They really should of held back the release to December or even next year.



They did this for free. What do you expect? If it's not free for S2 then maybe they will make new environments.

If you made something new and spent a lot of time and money on
it and it had -blam!- sales wouldn't you be pissed?


Even if they did hold back the release it would of been the same thing where it would be the same environments since they would want to spend the least amount of money and man power to make it if its free.

Lol your logic is broken, if a game does more than a campaign and multiplayer that doesn't mean they "did it for free" thats all included in the $60 price. I feel kind of cheated out of my money having to run around the same damn maps week after week.

343... Reused Sniper alley like 3+ times.

That was totally different, those firefight maps were made first and then implemented into campaign, in other words, the campaign used firefight maps.

Plus this is suppose to be like a mini campaign, not a shooting gallery in the same maps every week.

You only make Bungie sound even lazier with that defense.

Besides, episodes 3 and 4 have shown us that the multiplayer maps are also being used, as well as different sections of the areas we've already played on. Wait till the next 6 weeks of Spartan Ops are released before you all start crying about it would you?

I think the epitome of lazy design for Halo 4 was taking away so much from the arena style Halo has been known for in order to try to cater to the CoD audience. Specializations, ordinance drops, loadouts, AAs, instant respawn. Yuck.

This is now my main account. My former account was xKingGhidorahx. I've been on this site since 2009.

Spartan Ops is horrible. Replaying through the same maps over and over again in an episodic campaign is not fun. At least with Firefight you could customize the game mode to your liking. With Spartan Ops, you get nothing.

They could have at least TRIED with forge. The problem is that all the missions are the same: find x, "here's some new toys crimson enemies are attacking!"

The bandwidth strains that would result from all kinds of new information, and then the simple task of creating all new locations, for a project that was entirely experimental, would have just been rediculous. The 360 might not have been able to handle it on top of everything else. You already needed to download multiplayer from a seperate disk, adding that much more strain would have been risky. Since this is a prototype to test the fan's reactions, again, forgive them for playing it safe.

^^That's exactly how most campaign missions go, but they're flashier. Ultimately it's all about finding X.

A little of both. They have said that it's all experimental as of now. Going off of that, I simply considered some realistic problems that a team working on an effective prototype would run into, and what limitations they'd put on thenselves with such outdated technology.

Maroon 5 is awesome. Deal with it.

Firefight is more entertaining due to the customization options it had. I never had a problem playing maps ripped straight from campaign, only because the areas they used were essentially firefight areas in the campaign.

I would have preferred Firefight in Halo 4 than Spartan Ops. I think having Incineration Knights all on one wave would be pretty good from a challenge viewpoint.

I still have no idea how people find ODST's Firefight better than the Reach Firefight.

We Expected An adventure a new cooperative campaign...not recycled things that are already in game..Couldn't they just use the same environments and textures but just move the structures around so it looks...not..the same

I'm tired of playing on the same maps for Spartan Ops again and again. It's extremely repetitive and honestly kind of embarrassing a big title game has to resort to this.


I do not understand why people can't just be happy that the company that took over Halo actually tried innovation, instead of the same ole thing shined and re-shipped.


What innovation are you talking about? There's nothing new, they are just recycling things from Reach and from other games. There's nothing brand new. Even in E3 was said that no game had anything that has been already done.
