You know, I always come into big threads like these thinking "wow, must be some major discussion value here" and end up feeling disappointed when I realize a huge argument is inflating the thread.
OP: If we leave religion completely out of the issue, then it still depends on personal views. Some people view it as something special to be shared only with one other person forever. Some people view it as an integral part of any relationship. Just depends. What is it to you?
Well, I'm religious, so that influences my set of morals. But I don't want to turn this into a religious discussion, so if I were to completely ignore that facet of my life, I think I would still stay away from premarital sex. I like the idea of it being something special shared between you and your spouse. It seems like it's cheapened when it's shared with just anyone, unless I want to spend the rest of my life with them. But that's just my opinion.
This is, so far, the best argument I've seen for abstinence. I'm not saying I agree with everything here, but I respect this.
Well, thank you, I guess. It's not really meant to convince anyone one way or the other; I'm just trying to politely state my personal views. I don't understand why there's so much arguing about this.
People trying to impress their opinions on others, that's why.
