"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

I don't think it really matters much one way or the other. I get the reasoning behind both practices.

Sex is sex. It's not a space shuttle launch. A lot of people make it a bigger deal than it really is.

Its a big deal because a life can come from it.

Now you're putting irrelevant things into the context here. We're talking about sex, not babies.

Sex is how you make kids and a way to get diseases that are harmful to genitals. These things make it a big deal.

To each their own. I wouldn't look down on someone because of it, but personally I'm waiting til marriage.

There is a great difference between recreational sex involving contraceptives and protection, and sex with the intention of conceiving a child.

And if one of the partners unknowingly has an STD, and they are going to have sex either way and possibly give that disease to their partner, then the time of which they engage in intercourse doesn't really affect that [possible] outcome.

Actually no but I 'm showing you reasons behind the thread.

~:O>~~

I think there should be a mutual level of commitment for either person... if anything sex is something that should humanize everyone! It's good for physical and mental health, and people were meant to have that kind of relation with people throughout a lifetime.

However, if it's the only factor in a relationship, then there's going to be some problems... I think if you do plan on spending the rest of your life with someone, your going to need to learn how to not engage in that act just in case some interruptions occur and that your not basing your entire life on one thing. Because it should be based on so many other things...

I can't help but to think of my girlfriend... I'm going to cry now.

I don't see why it's a bad thing. If it helps people feel closer and they enjoy it then I don't see why not.

One point I have heard for abstinence is that having premarital sex dehumanizes the spouse in your eyes by making that person a object for pleasure
???

OT: it shouldn't, every guy alive fantasized of having sex with a hot girl from their school at least once in their life, so any guy who looks down at premarital sex is a hypocrite

They fantasize about having sex with someone but not necessarily before or during marriage.

I used to think this, but it really is a big deal. It can have huge effects on emotions, especially for girls. If you have a heart at all, you have to be really careful with it or you'll end up really hurting people's feelings and -blam!- ing with their future ability to trust or love someone.

For some reason other means of fooling around doesn't seem to have the same effect, not in my experience anyway. Sex is big league stuff, and it should be treated that way.

Premarital sex is good. Idiots having sex should be frowned upon. Seriously, I have no issue with people having sex before marriage. I have an issue with Stupid people having non-safe sex before marriage.
What about the smart people having non-safe sex?

Then there is a good chance they aren't all that smart.

That made me laugh, thanks. If I tell the girl I have no intention of being in a relationship and she still wants to have sex, great. If she then gets those feelings and wants a relationship, tough luck. She knew what the score was before hand. It's not my fault she wants more than she should have expected.

That's up to every individual.

I really don't care what other people do, how they think, and what their opinions are.

They can do whatever the hell they want.

Except in the movie No Strings Attached, it was reversed.

x_*x Blame Stosh

Absolutely not, and I'm of the opinion that marriage isn't needed at all. However, that doesn't mean it's alright to be super promiscuous, of course.

Making other people's private bedroom activities your business is what religious fanatics do. It's wrong, and anybody that does can, ironically, go -blam!- themselves.

I'm not making other people's business my business but I'm merely asking a question that I think most people don't.
