Why is ice cream cold?
I'm no ice cream expert, so I'll give this my best shot, but you should probably google the answer just to be sure...
Ice cream is melting when given to a person(or reaching the melting point, then proceeding to melt).
So when you hold ice cream, energy(in the form of heat in this situation) is transferred from whatever body part of yours is touching the ice cream to the ice cream so that the ice cream melts and feels cold to you.
