It prepared me for multiplayer, that's for true, however it's unnecessarily difficult. It takes too many rounds to drop the shields of a Promethean Knight, and checkpoints are not very convenient. I've completed 6 missions on Legendary, but died 160 times. What do you think about it?

The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

Go play Halo 2. Then you will be begging for Halo 4 on legendary.

It's called Artificial Difficulty OP - there aren't that many games without it nowadays.

"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

You died 160 times? Good lord.

Tip: kill as many enemies from a distance as possible with a rifle. Only get in close if it is necessary. Also, kill all the little enemies first because they can overwhelm you quickly.

Died 160 times... I don't think it's that the game is hard being the source of your problem.

It's really the Knights that I have a problem with. They contribute to well over 90 percent of my deaths. I just don't have the ammo to take care of them.

Halo 4 isn't even difficult. It's slightly harder than Halo 3, and Halo 3 had mediocre AI. This is what you do, you stay behind cover, charge your plasma pistol, take down the enemies shields, headshot them with your precision rifle. That's pretty much the whole game. Same thing with Halo 1&2, except those games were very challenging. I think if they made jackals as accurate and deadly as they were in Halo 2 (outskirts, lol) then the game would be harder and make for more replay ability

You want to know a not well known tip?
Turn on the skull that makes enemies throw grenades on Promethean heavy levels. The Knights will be stuck throwing grenades, go behind them and backsmack them for the easiest kill.

But the pistol doesn't work on Knights.

It doesn't? I could have sworn I have done it many times to them but in the event that you lack a plasma pistol, keep your distance, use precision rifles, and consistently fire until their shields completely deplete because they end up recharging very quickly if you don't keep it up

The term Arificial Difficulty is used when a game becomes less about about player skill and more about raising the bar of enemy AI, such as health or shielding.

In practice, you are playing the game exactly as you were on the lower difficulties, but the enemy has now got X more health and X more shields.

Not difficult, just 'more of the same'. Whereas, say, a platformer might have a difficult series of jumps to navigate (see Super Meat Boy), nowadays games just throw more enemies, or tougher enemies at the player, which objectively isn't that difficult to overcome, but the odds have been raised.

(Sorry for any mistakes - bus i'm on is shaking like crazy...)

Take out watchers and crawlers first. Then keep an eye out for when the knights do their teleporting thing. I learned patience is a necessary skill in Halo 4.

It's not challenging it's just that every grunt has a fuel rod cannon.

Also, what he said, focus on the watchers and crawlers first.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Well maybe it does. I've tried it once or twice but didn't notice anything. My main weapons for them are light rifles and DMRs.

Also, if you use the light rifle remember to zoom in because that changes the form of the shot from burst to single shot and is slightly more powerful. Just be patient and dont waste shots.
