Wow, 5 Schools from California on that list.
Lets go over it, shall we?
#5: University of California Riverside. Riverside is a -blam!-hole, as a result, so is UCR
#4: California State University Fresno. Fresno is also a -blam!-hole. For being in the central valley, it's a pretty dangerous town.
#3: San Diego University is Practically on the boarder. Not really suprised it's on the list with all the violence that goes on, even in San Diego, boarder wise.
#2: UC Berkley kinda surprised me. It's in the bay area, those are supposed to be Peace loving hippies up there.
#1!: UCLA... Los Angeles hills, Knuff Said. I was expecting USC on there, I mean its right next to a -blam!- part of the city. Also remember Berkley has the crazy hippy students.
USC's campus is a little niche in an otherwise semi-dangerous ghetto area.
On campus you are generally safe because it is small and compact so non-students cant enter as easily, but walk 2 blocks (especially south and west of campus) and you are in really bad territory if you arent headed up toward the LA convention center
UCLA's campus is huge, so it isnt surprising that more crime takes place on it
