USC's campus is a little niche in an otherwise semi-dangerous ghetto area.

On campus you are generally safe because it is small and compact so non-students cant enter as easily, but walk 2 blocks (especially south and west of campus) and you are in really bad territory if you arent headed up toward the LA convention center

UCLA's campus is huge, so it isnt surprising that more crime takes place on it
It still sucks to go to USC, espically since you will probably live and have to park off campus but then if anything happens it doesn't count as being on campus.

Im surprised UCSB isn't on the list. Isla Vista is crazy but it must not be considered part of campus crimes.

I dated a girl who went to USC and lived just a few blocks from campus. -blam!- everything about that.

My legit Killtrocity

Camping like a 'mouth breather'
If Fed Ex and UPS merged into one company, would it be called Fed Up?

I don't want to start another account for a digital number that has no true value in ten years.

Nope my University of South Florida that I'm starting to attend next year is not on the list.

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Berkley surprised me. The town of Berkley is awful but the campus itself is wonderful, it's like a bubble.

(I don't go there)

Es ist Zeit für einige Gefahr-pay

The person who wrote the article forgot to read this.

NOTE: Caution should be exercised in making any intercampus comparisons or ranking schools because university/college crime statistics are affected by a variety of factors. These include demographic characteristics of the surrounding community, ratio of male to female students, number of on-campus residents, accessibility of the campus to outside visitors, size of enrollment, etc.

I'm surprised a few from my state aren't on that list.

Rutgers University-Camden is smack in the middle of a city worse than Detroit. Wander just a block off campus and you're in questionable territory. I know people who have witnessed muggings. Campus security offers free escorts to the train station there.

NJIT right in the middle of Newark. There isn't anything to do off campus there since the neighborhood surrounding it is so bad. My friend has heard gunshots before and armed robbery isn't uncommon.

~Thread-killer~

I'm surprised no Texas campuses were on that list.

My University only had 3 reports of violent crime. No one got murdered at least.
