Don't forget what you did to the Irish and all your other conquered countries. Your not perfect and definetly not the most powerful.
I never said Britain was perfect, infact Britain is a horrible place to live in my opinion as a Brit.
Military power means little now on the world stage of politics, with the increasing abundance of nukes owned by most of the major countries now invasion is merely not a factor of warfare anymore as retalitation would destroy nearly everything.
Not it's all about the economic power of countries determining their strength. Looked at what happened to both greece and italy economies collapsing due to debt.
Americans $16t of debt doesn't lend itself into stabilising your economy.
Except that we're the most economically powerful nation.
Yet you are in an immense amount of debt and seek to ever expand a redundant military asset rather than pursue an increase in economic power. No country in a large amount of debt will truly be an economically stable country as they have to rely upon other countries to keep them afloat.
If crisis occured in Japan and they decided they wanted their money fast it could potentially cripple america.
Look at what happened to Germany in the 1930's. Went from the Golden Years to economic collapse due to america wanting it's money fast due to your crashed stock market from overproduction.
The very collapse of Germany's economy was due to america's businesses, the very collapse of Germany allowed Hitler to rise to power and was a vital factor in him gaining power.
Good -blam!- god..., 'the hell taught you anything? The modern economies are so globally intertwined that nobody would rush anyone or be stupid enough, as that would cause their economies to collapse as well. This is just a bump within history. We're slowing down and didn't realize it, and kept pushing the throttle. The real problem that America is facing currently is that it's finally realizing that it won the Cold War, and now they're on top, but due to internal ridiculousness (and the Brits think their politicians are nuts), we're suffering and could even fall from this position. For what we're going through now, I put no blame anywhere else besides simply the government, as it's just getting terrible over here with ass-backwardsy that when we should have building up, we're patching up -blam!- with duct tape. We certainly are a global power and will likely remain this way for a decent amount of time, but our democracy is simply starting to stagnate.
TL;DR- If we had some great politicians again, we'd be flying high. But we haven't had a 'great' leader in decades, it's hurting us, and we're also not constantly fighting ourselves with media.
