Subject: Something just occurred to me about Destiny...

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

So a big problem with Halo 4 was that by the time we knew anything about the game, it was too late for 343 to make any big changes. Coupled with fact it had no beta, we didn't know a lot of stuff had been left out.

Bungie's new game however, is still in Development. I'm willing to bet that we still have time to voice our wants and opinions, similar to what the Flood did with Halo 4 (Even if it was past the time and on the wrong site.) We are in the right time and on the right site! So ask away Community, what do you want to be in Destiny?

Hmph, I doubt it.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Well, just look at Reach. Info stared rolling in around January and we got a Beta in May. Then, from May to September, we got a few months to voice our opinions and things did change, like the Plasma Launcher.

I think it'll be fine. And remember, don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

This is going to forever change the way I look at life. Thank you.

OT: Maybe they will, although I'd be ok if we didn't have a beta too. I've seen them pull off enough miracles to know they can do it without us. The fact they still choose to weight in our input as much as they do, really speaks volume on the caliber of their love for the community.

They have the Beta Tester Program so I'm sure they are already getting feed back from the people already chosen for that and if they haven't started that yet when they do they will.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Definitely not.

Beta for Bungie? Yes Please!

Dinosaurs.

  • 11.27.2012 11:51 AM PDT

I think a beta would ruin the first game, it would be okay for later versions but the first one? No thanks.

Nonsense. Especially if Destiny features a higher player count than Halo does, Bungie will not miss the chance to gather raw networking data from a Beta which they can use to optimize and fine tune things before the game launches.

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

Once Destiny is launched, every succeeding year will see either expansions or full retail releases. If Bungie is going to do a beta, it'd be for the first game.

OP is right.

However I've been researching Destiny for a long time since the first rumor and we actually do know a lot about the game.

It's a huge open world game where you shoot Aliens. It's NOT a classic FPS because it's an open world and it's NOT a MMO because Destiny won't be a server-based and it's NOT a hybrid between the two.

Then what is Destiny? Throw Boarderlands and Playstation Home (game) together and mix it with Bungie's talent. It's a game that is more fun when you play it online. The game randomly finds other players who are in the same area of the map as you and combines the adventure. This makes the world feel more alive.

Yeah.. I guess. I was thinking from my view, not Bungie's.

Bro, we don't even know what genre it is.

It certainetly might polarize the fanbase and turn some people off, but feedback is feedback, and is super valuable.

Yeah we do. It's planned to be a sci fantasy action shooter with MMO elements according to the Activision Bungie contract that was released by Activision.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I think Arbitor was trying to say since Destiny is a new IP, there shouldn't be a Beta because that would spoil the matchmaking and the game's universe.
