The machinegun warthog and the Pelican, and maybe some other vehicles in halo1 &2 (i might have forgotten some) have some unrealistic weaponry. I'm blaming bungie, but i'm just pointing it out for them for halo 3. It is hard to do accurate research and make a game at the same time.
First- Machinegun Warthog
I tested the machinegun(minigun, vulcan cannon, wutever you want to call it) on the back to see how fast it fires. It fires 900rnds per minute, while miniguns would fire around 4000 rounds per minute. The minigun was used in fast moving vehicles to increase the amount of bullets hitting the target and increasing the probability of destroying it.
Fault -900 rounds per minute
Fix-increase firing rate
minigun
Second- Pelican
Two things, first the machinegun in the back and the chain gun in the front should be changed into a minigun. Modern helicopters use miniguns for reasons i've explained above. They fly about 200-300mph (give or take 50 miles), need miniguns to effectively hit targets on the ground. In the books, it saids the Pelican fly faster than the speed of sound. I think they would need a faster firing weapon, or else it would be almost impossible to hit the targets.
The flying mechanics isn't very realistic. I playing level cairo station in halo 2 and i jumped on top of a pelican in one of the parts. I SAW AIR INTAKES ON THE TOP. In the book, "first strike" it depicted that after halo was destroyed, masterchief found marines on a pelican in space and they flew it into a convenant flag ship. Correct me if i'm wrong because i don't really remember. If the engines need AIR INTAKES, how does it fly in space where there is not AIR.
Fault- Need miniguns
- WTF, AIR INTAKES
Fix- Change the weapons
- Remove the intakes
Pelican Intake
