The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

Every single anime is perverted in a way. I love the intense stories though of some anime. Higurashi and Umineko as examples.

New challenge: Give me ten more. It's a rarity cause while the Japanese aren't entirely Xenophobic, they still hold some racial distance from others.

Well, there aren't many black people in Japan so that kind of distancing isn't unusual.

I mean, when you make a show you aim to relate with your demographic. Just like how in america the most common main character type is a 30-something caucasian with brown hair.

So why not make them look Japanese? Why so many blonde hair blue eyes, brown hair green eyes (and yes there are rainbow colours) and red haired and green eyed characters?

It isn't impossible to find characters with black hair and brown eyes, but they all look like white people.

I don't know why people think anime characters look western. I just don't see it, most westerners don't have freakishly large eyes, no nose and rainbow hair.

Anime characaters are just supposed to look cute or visually appealing. Big eyes and bright colors are big parts of that.

Also, to me the adverage anime protagonist tends too look like the adverage japanese teen.

I'm not sure where that image is, but there was a comparison between anime characters and the skull shape and face structure of Caucasians, Mongoloids and Negroids, and anime character faces are definitely closest to Caucasians. But having blonde hair and blue eyes, or other European hair and eye colours is not found among the Japanese populace. European eyes are bigger than Japanese eyes and again, anime eyes are closer to European eyes than Japanese eyes, and have European colouring too. Their skin is almost 99% of the time European skin colour also. There are some Japanese people with very pale skin, but their skin is closer on average to maybe some Italians who are a little tan, whereas most anime characters have very very pale skin.

Perhaps, but I'm just saying anime character's aren't designed to look like any perticular race, just to be as visually appealing as possible. Pale skin and vibrant colors are visually appealing to many people, especially japanese.

Besides if you really look at the facial structure, they like much more closely cute animals like cats rather than humans.

I definetly would like to travel to Japan in the future, it sounds like a great place, hell, even move there for the Healthcare. Shame there's no fossils though. Or rather, a large amount of them.

I can't be the only one who sees it. Most common anime character designs lack prominant noses and have a slight muzzle instead that to me looks very catlike. Throw in the large, multicolored irises with small or even lacking pupils, the common use of the :3 face and fangs, and how common stuff like animal ears and hybrids are.

Of course it's not the case for more 'realistic' designs like you see in say death note or hellsing, but in those kind of shows people definately look like whatever race they should be.

Man, they look like Europeans. I can sort of the see the cat connection in a way, but of the three main subspecies of human, they definitely look European rather than Asian or Black. Pic related. My sister looks like her but with smaller eyes obviously and more normal proportions. I have never seen an Asian looking anything like that. I remember from the image the skull shape had like a 60% similarity to white people, 40% similarity to Asians, and like 20% similarity to black people. The only people who actually look Asian in anime are old people.

Also anime is better then American TV show and movies in my opinion.

Boku no Pico would like to talk to you.
It caters to -blam!- -blam!-s. What American TV show does that for yah?

I think those are all intended to create exaggerated facial expressions. It's part of the comedy that comes with anime. And the art style in general (colors and design) is also what I think draws in audience. It's attractive (I don't generally mean -blam!- either).
