Excuse me but.. what a silly idea (imho). There is NO need for this to happen, ever.
Should all the playstation people down the road be forced to make Windows Live IDs if they have no use for it?
You could add the ability to sign in via PSN / whatever other form of ID you wished, without needing to delete everything that came before. Creative destruction is all well and good, but in this case I'm sure that simple creation would suffice.
Or just have it so that you can sign up with any e-mail address.. or even sign up/in with profiles such as twitter and facebook.

I don't want to give him such an opportunity.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

Why would they need to delete all of their members just because they're no longer apart of MS? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, of all time.

Yes, I like my title, I like having a blue hat.

I'm sure that a new log-in system will go hand-in-hand with the new hawtness.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I don't see why all accounts would have to be deleted. Why not just add a system to allow you to change the email used for your account?

  • 11.27.2012 4:05 PM PDT

A simple life.

Obviously Bungie has a better plan than this ._.

The main problem is that then you have a signup area for all the Windows Live ID people and then a signup area for everyone else.

There are ways to do this that won't result in the utter nuking of the past as well I should probably add.

Heh, I'm sure Bungie won't wipe the landscape clean.

There wouldn't be a need to wipe accounts anyways. User identity and login credentials are high priority on the webteam's list. I'm sure they have a solution that will work for old and new users come this next generation. As for silly hats? They have nothing to do with this.

I recall that if someone was banned from MM in one Halo game, Bungie didn't carry that ban over into other games.

I wonder if .Next will echo that spirit of generosity and apparent belief in redemption?

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

Cant you make a button that you press to either give you a PSN or Xbox log in. I Feel like the code would be that hard.

They'll likely have, and by likely I mean almost definitely, a transition system to migrate to the new hawtness.

I don't really think they should delete everybody, because many have been around for years. I dunno. I also just don't see that happening, either.

I think if all accounts got deleted long time members would not be too happy.

I mean if it did happen then oh well. I'll be the first one to jump on and get a good username. I'll seize the day if it happens.

I really doubt they would nuke their entire user base. Who knows ... especially since when Destiny comes out it's going to bring in a ton of new people and bungie might want to clear out all the extra accounts that were made during the halo 3 era alone. I can see it going both ways lol

If they do nuke it all they should make a way so you can import info or something from a previous profile and give you some special status so people know you've been here for a long time at least.

Life is like a clogged toilet. It's full of crap until you do something about it.

I don't speak Karate!

Maybe then my gamertag of awesomeness will finally complete my image on b.net. I'm tired of being that one guy who was dumb enough to pick a name that includes numbers and letters in a mind blowingly dull combination that hurts the eyes and memory.

Bungie.next will likely have a way of selecting a log in to use be it a windows live ID or something else.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

I'm going to become Legendary in the next few months, so I care for a title.

However, a new name would be nice. I've hated my name since I completed the registration.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I imagine Bungie will make some way to port your username over to Bungie.next, thereby keeping your join date, etc. Also, there are more people here than just the Floodians.
