Do kids/children expect too much?

I was in Walmart picking up presents for my children (lego, board games etc) and whilst waiting in queue to pay for my items, I noticed this young lady infront of me with two Xbox 360's. I couldn't help but ponder why she had two until I asked her and she said they were for her two sons. I was dumbfounded. I was shocked. I was disgusted.

So does todays youth expect too much at christmas/birthdays?

Well then, you somehow found my signature, nice job, so time for your prize.............FLOODIANS! ATTACK! Also, those socks do NOT make you look handsome.

Yes.

One Xbox is about enough for a family. No practical reason to buy 2 Xbox's and 2 of each game.

+1 for you good sir.

I don't think so. I would say it's the parents fault either way. If I had two sons and they both wanted an xbox 360, i'd laugh at them and get them Nintendo DS' with pokemon.

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Hell, my parents don't buy me anything besides the clothes on my back and the food in my stomach. If I want something, I have to buy it myself.

Exactly why I was so amazed at the fact she had TWO for BOTH her sons.

Are you sure they don't live in different houses?
One son could live with his father for all we know,

The cake is a pie

It kind of annoys me when people speak in such a general way about kids. When I was growing up, I didn't really know any luxury. I certainly wasn't in the poor house, but like hell did I have two xboxes! You know what I asked for Christmas? Lego and art sets. And all the while, angry old people on the news were assuming that I had my ass encased in gold.

She had a wedding ring on, so I assumed they lived in the same household.

When I was of a younger age, me and my siblings didn't have much spent on us. We got one or two things and were happy. We were more upper class as well.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

My parents always spoiled me, but I didn't expect to get everything. I just wrote a list of literally everything I wanted, and my parents would get whatever they could.

Right, but you're missing the point. They're getting two Xbox's. For two different people. at the same time. In the same household.

"didn't expect to get everything". But you no doubt wrote a long list, not thinking twice about how much your parents might have spent on you that Christmas.

If that's all they're getting for christmas then thats acceptable, If they're both getting xboxes + more than a few things on top then they're just spoilt.

To faffum a guess, I would suspect they were getting more than Xbox's as the bag looked to have my items in it.

Maybe the kids both wanted an Xbox 360, but the woman thought they wanted seperate ones, instead of just one.

I bought my own PS2 when I was younger. My brother, sister, and I had to share one, but I loved playing RPG's and other longer games and it got hard to get as much time as I wanted when I had to share with them.

But once I got my own I could play all the Kingdom Hearts I wanted.

It was just one for a year which had to be sent for repairs just before Christmas, got another one for Christmas which was supposed to make it so that each had one, then a few weeks later the old one came back from repairs, and I've had that one for almost 4 years now.

But alas, it's death is rapidly approaching...

One does not choose a destiny, his destiny is bestowed, shaped and formed, from the soul.

What are you doing Jeremy! Go back and finish filming for the next top gear season damnit!

I'm waiting for the Christmas special but all I get is top gear top fails and best of top gear. BBC America sucks until the new season comes out
