I'm not sure if I'm late, but I guess this was some kind of hint during Bungie Day.

SonicJohn pieced together the star maps into one big topography map for the area around Puerto Princesa. The city would likely have expanded, etc, but I'm doubting that the mountains or anything had completely changed. The climate could have changed by then, though.

Hey guys. I enlarged the star image with the large orb. In the stars, it says:

"Table head"
"Taquoros"
"Rinnunalian Ray"
"Bay Pc"

What's all this about?

So, SE Asia/Oceanic region?

I imagine the geography would be different by the game era.

Awesome! Currently working on some of the text in the middle of the image. It's hard to decipher.

"Further north of
...ed to the time of
..is awakened for
... .... ... up
... .. ... ..
... ... .. subway"

I'll take this to the art students and get them to graph it all for me tomorrow.

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Created this thread and the it got locked, too lazy to retype everyhting. Pertains to Dead Orbit, and New Monarchy.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

My God, people. We are all capable of going to NeoGaf and, in fact, the link to their thread is already posted earlier in this thread. No need to repost everything in their thread here.

Especially since NOT ONE OF YOU has attributed these little "discoveries" to their original poster, site, or thread. It's not necessarily plagiarism, but it is certainly common courtesy.

I just noticed, VGA's are on December 7th. Haha the 7th. If the VGAs are when Destiny is revealed, Bungie you and your number 7 :P

I think the aliens are just meanies.

  • 11.27.2012 5:54 PM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

How in the hell is this last city surviving against an onslaught of aliens from all corners of the universe (sometimes I think they mean Galaxy)? That ship above must be incredibly advanced.

The sphere may be like the "forerunners" of the Destiny world.

I think this conflict may of been going on for Hundreds of years, probably long past anyone remembering.

Never give up, never surrender!

Make note of this day, for it shall be remembered for the Ages !

The city is a fortress, with the sphere protecting them from above.

Essentially, they're going to be under siege.

Why do you think the aliens are trying to kill us this time?

I got $10 on zealous religion

Seven hundred years is a lot of time to make enemies, especially if humanity are galactic litterbugs.

Perhaps the aliens are conservationists?

I get the feeling that Humanity is getting hunted down

I haven't read about the Destiny storyline yet but I'm guessing that the giant sphere may contain something special. Maybe a weapon?

I think that Humanity is being forced under the sphere because they have no where else to run.

The sphere might be protecting Earth.

If it is protecting all of Earth, I am sure we would have more than 1 city. Doesn't mean there aren't other humans living all over Earth, it could be like "Jachinto" from Gears of War, the only safe place from the Locust.

The big sphere over Earth is obviously the Didact.

Bungie should place some Halo references in Destiny. They could include an masterchief quote.

Well, a lot of Neogafers probably don't go here, and most of us probably don't browse there or have accounts ( or if they do, they're waiting for activation :P ).

Just trying to help spread info from one forum to another, would you prefer we stop doing it at all, or just give credit 'Founded by _____ on Neogaf.'?

Doubt they can, since Microsoft owns Halo now.

Can anyone tell where the Sphere is?

That continent in the cloud looks like Africa possibly?

I think the map location we got will be important but I don't think it is where the city is.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

So is the last city on Earth a futuristic Puerto Princesca? Someone see if those mountains in This Picture match up with the topography!
Well here's the real world map links thanks to SonicJohn.

Do you think this is a destroyed section of Earth, or part of the "safe" city?

Maybe it was an attempt to expand that got over run.

After reading your post, I think that the sphere may contain the key to rebuilding.

Take a look at this. It's from a game called Tiberium that was backed by EA, but ended up being canceled.

That gun looks very similar to the concept art provided in the IGN article.

We're assuming the sphere is where modern day Puerto Princesa is
