Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I don't know if this, the DeeJ mess up thread, the DrBunsenHoneydew Laboratorium thread, or the talon3000 "Well that just happened" thread filled up the quickest. I'm inclined to believe this one, just because holy -blam!- 612 replies already really?!
Who's this 'talon3000' you speak of?

I wonder what that ball thing is that we see in the image Bungie released.
Some kind of minion originating from "The Protector" is my guess.
From the very little we've seen, I'd say you're right. It looks like 'Protector' tech. Kind of like a Sentinel.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

The IGN article say that on the document there was a URL of the website Destiny.com. Which says has been around since 1995 in that photo. I would like to add to this a thread that I made a while back about how Destiny could be a lot older than we thought. My theory.
I am not claiming that the article written by IGN is completely true though.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I am hearing that Destiny is supposed to be "less mature than Halo", wonder what that means.

It's also entirely likely that someone completely unrelated bought Destiny.com in 1995. Bungie then bought it off said person a lot later, possibly in 2009 when the update to the site was made.

I'm now seeing Final Fantasy XIII in the art. The style. Also, that ball reminds me of Cocoon.

I have to ask though, is the first thing to come to mind with all of this totally Marathon and Star Wars had a baby?

Not shooting down originality at all, just saying, the two biggest inspirations.

If by baby you mean an adult popped out of the womb, much to the displeasure of the mother since this new lifeform is large and muscular, then yes.
