Some of my friends were talking about how they were discussing this in their class, and I wanted to know what the Flood thought of this topic.

Should cigarettes be legal, or not?

Why do you think so?

I write poetry, I write short-stories, I listen to hip-hop (80s&90s), Reggae, Classic Rock n Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, and the 60s, 70s.

While, they're not good for you, don't ban 'em.

GOAT

I think smoking is dumb, but I don't think it should be banned.

  • 11.27.2012 8:21 PM PDT

If people want to mess up their lungs, let them. But don't smoke around kids or people who don't want it.

  • 11.27.2012 8:21 PM PDT

No, it shouldn't matter what an adult wants to put into their own body.

"If you want to test a man's character, give him power" -- Abraham Lincoln

We shouldn't ban them.

Banning any one private good can be used as a ground to ban any other good.

By this logic, should marijuana, cocaine and all the bunch be legal?

  • 11.27.2012 8:22 PM PDT

For use in public. I can't stand a whiff of that stuff, plus with Asthma, it isn't pleasant walking past someone smoking...

I could care less what you do in private.

  • 11.27.2012 8:23 PM PDT

People know the risks involved. It's there own problem. With all the regulations secondhand smoke is not as bad to deal with. It creates WAY to much money for the government to justify making illegal.

Welcome, welcome to city 17...

no, keep them legal but tax the hell out of them, more revenue for everyone!!!! (except smokers)

Maybe people like smoking cigerattes? Just because you don't enjoy them does not mean others don't. I personally don't do it but you have to understand other people might like smoking a cigeratte after a long day. I would even go to say other drugs that are banned now should not be. People have the right to do what they want with there bodies.

I don't think we should ban them.

Or did everyone forget the prohibition era?

Humans naturally trend to want what they are told they can't have. It would be worse to ban them.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Banning them would mean loss in a lot of revenue.

They call me graland.

As someone who is allergic to cigarette smoke and finds it to be a disgusting, poinless, and filthy habit. . . no, they should not.

  • 11.27.2012 8:27 PM PDT
