Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

So far looks good.
I hope EUSA(or the European equivalent) of NASA will have it operational in the next few years, sounds like a big leap in tech regarding lifting components to Space stations(or even help construct one?) or better, start the quest to build a Moon base.
Also, future of Space crafts is in the right direction, thanks Paul for posting this! :D

Hopefully it doesn't have the same track record as the recently tested hypersonic rocket. That didn't go so well.

Friends before pixels.

Maybe this is what Boeing and Airbus have been waiting for, since they have cut funding to most of their big projects.

I remember reading about Skylon about a year ago or so. Glad to see the project is going forwards and not backwards.

To the stars!

NASA was doing a project similar to this engine but after failing to get it working decided to use the technology on missiles.

The project started in 1980's but was pretty different to what it is today, the mastermind behind the engine didn't give up and hes now about to make history.

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

I hope this type of plane doesn't end up like the Concorde. Which was to expensive to fly on and maintain. So because of that it got shutdown.

If thats the one where they strap a missile to a massive plane and launch it in the air at Mach 4? (I think its that speed) then yes thats the program.
Sounds like that will be expensive for an airline program, not so much for missiles. Not strange if they scrapped it.

Technicall thats still a jet engine, with the turbines and air intake and everything... it just also has the ability to function outside an atmosphere where theres no oxygen.

Misleading statement is misleading, we will be in the jet engine phase for a while, do you even know how sophisticated a jet engine is? Theres a reason they cost millions of dollars to manufacture one and have cost billions to develop over the years
