As i have been playing through halo over and over and over and over again, it has come to my attention that the game seems to get harder the faster your progress though a level. For instance in AOTCR more and more enemies appear, however if you die and respawn to do the same part over again less enemies are available. For instance when crossing the pride their are 2 banchies, 2 elites, 3 grunts and 3 jackels, but if you die, the respawn is only 1 elites, 2 banchies, and 2 grunts. Also in Halo, i noticed that i was being swarmed by a chaotic amount of enemies, they over ran me and killed me. WHen i did the level again, i found that about 10 enemies including grunts, jackels, and elites, just sat in one area and let me kill them, they didn;t even move when i was jumping in front of them. Are these examples of glitches in the game, of did the creaters program th AI to become smarter and have more enemies the better you are playing, then if you start to loose, dumb it down a bit?

umm... by the "the pride" do you mean the bridge? Cuz a elite makes a run for a banshee and takes off. And i never noticed anything else like you are describing.

I've noticed the same thing... the more you go in kick ass and do well the more pissed off they get and more they come at you all at once.

This is a little off-topic but it's the same sort of thing. In GoldenEye for the N64, if your invisible and go around the 2nd bunker level silently killing each guy individually, you'll have about 30 kills. Do the same level with twin uzi's rampaging through the level and at the end it's 80. So 50 guys magically have spawned out of the walls :/ ( no alarms triggered )

In Halo, its probably that your doing it in different difficulty settings each time, or your speeding through areas and not checking behind you, then you trigger off more coming out by going close to doors and things, you get surrounded making it feel like theres more than there should be. Also bodies disappear and it could be making your count wrong. Its fun in AOTCR to drive about in the Worthog triggering off lots off guys to come out, then you have -blam!- loads to deal with :)

I'll tell you what people, the same is here with me. I've gone in single player and have found, not more enemy numbers, but increased tactics and strategy. I have the game Legendary for a long time( and have passed it) and I keep playing for fun. I know a lot of stuff, but things always change a bit everytime you play. I have fought covies a lot of times and sometimes the AI becomes smarter somehow because they place traps for me. I was pinned down bad once and it was a standoff. I was looking at my motion tracker and all was quite except for the guys im fighting. Then all hell broke loose. An Elite decided to charge and they gained more ground and one hell of a diversion because in the middle of it all, two grunts had sneaked up behind me with an Elite and some threw a flanking manuever. I saw my motion tracker late and when I turned he whacked me. All three of them caught me off guard and killed me with the help of the others (two grunts down though). Even in Coop it happens. Me and my brother were in almost the same position as mentioned above. While we figured out how to deal with the covies, three grunts sneaked up behind my brother and killed him. I turn to try and help out and find that a grunt had sneaked up on me and the front line covies charged at our position. We check out our motion scanner a lot but sometimes it just doesnt work out.
