I'm a hobbiest modeller and I've built a few of these before. First, you need to learn to fly a regular helicopter. I recommend anything by Blade (get something small and work your way up). Once you've done that then you can get cheap quadrocopters (or build one yourself) but to be honest if you're proficient with one of Blade's counterrotators you should be ok with a good quality quadrotor. PM me if you want some more info.
the school tried those 30 dollar ones last year to start people with...they all go owned because people thought they were to difficult. so we got these quadcopters this year and they seem easy to use...but i cant figure out the trim to get it to perfectly balance :(.
yorkieQuadrotors fly a little differently to regular helis, you need to be proficient in a counterrotator or regular heli before making the move to quadrotor.
its all i have tho.
yorkieYou can get a cheap Blade model easily. Try the MCX, I think it's called.
